End of the Road
Based on John Barth's disturbing and powerful novel, this drama centers on the struggles of a self-absorbed, mentally unstable English teacher to come to grips with himself and to find meaning in his existence. His only real friends are a young married couple. To help himself, he goes to Doctor D, an eccentric psychiatrist whose off-beat methods lead him to a terrible tragedy and to one of the most graphic abortion scenes on film.
