I understand how it can be disappointing to read a good book and then watch a movie based on the book that just dosen't measure up. I have had this same experience many times. Just have to remind your self that it's another persons artistic view of the story and not the arthors...therefore it is bound to be a bit different. I, myself, did not know of the books before I saw Eragon. I really enjoyed the movie so I'll be looking for the books now.

this is absolutely 1 of my favorite movie of all time!!its like a mix of narnia,lotr and golden compass!!amazing...i enjoyed the fight scene...i even amazed to the costumes..cinematography and the casting...awesome!!nice 1!hope the next would be another spectacular movie!!! this is my favorite dragon movie..defenitely "two thumbs up"

if u watch the movie closely durza actually did stab eragon at his back..watch it slow motion..so although it wasn't carefully done it still did not leave out the most important part..

I LOVE the book. The movie wasn't anything like it, though. The movie is more like some home-made video. It was okay, though. I love Sienna Guillory! She's my fave actress! Ed Spellers is okay... I hope they make a better movie of 'Eldest'.

I almost got mad when I first saw Eragon. The book is so, sooooo wonderful, such a masterpiece, but the movie... they've just ruin it. they didn't follow the story line at all, and a lot of IMPORTANT scenes were left out. Not fair! I wanted to see something much more than this... something like LOTR. But... T_T NOT FAIR! I WANT A BETTER MOVIE!!!! (can't wait for book 3)

I HATED THAT MOVIE IT MADE ME SOO MAD! IT IS NOTHING LIKE THE BOOK! THE BOOK IS WAY BETTER! i WISH I NEVER SPENT MY MONEY TO RENT IT! ok i admit the actor is HOT! and the Dragon is pretty cool ( but its wrong 2) but who could sit through it?

Even though some of the effects were ok, the director ruined this film by missing out many important parts to the book, especially the part where Eragon gets the scar on his back. He carries the scar until half-way through the second book and it is important because he needs to learn to fight eith it and then get healed by the dragons, which is deeply significant. There is no way that they will be able to make up for it either because as the book says, the cut was made by a shade and that was why it couldnt be healed and the shade HAD to be Durza! what a load of rubbish!!

Books are much better...they took out a lot of cool things. READ THE BOOKS! Saphira was good though. I liked her.^^

NOT THAT GOOD IDEA AFTER GREAT LORD OF THE RINGS AND HARRY POTTER.If this movie released before this 2 sequels maybe movie would be Success but.....What is Stefan thinkin????/

i've read and re-read both books and cant wait tiill the final instalment.
the film may miss some important bits such as the twins, katrina etc but if you look at the special features you'll see they are there but edited :(.
however, the film is still exelent, with some well known actors and hot new ones. the next film will just be as good as the first. hopefully they dont skip too many important bit for the final film as the director knows the main outline for it .posted 373 days ago -

The editing alone made me completely loathe this movie. How hard is it to have consistency? I had high hopes for this series to be the next epic fantasy.. But I would rather be armless then see it ever again.

This movie was not what I expected. Having read the book (which I really didn't hate, but I wasn't wild about it either), I expected the movie to be....well, good. Granted, the special effects are amazing, and Saphira is depicted marvelously on screen. But the script, the scenes, the actors....*sigh* I'm disappointed.

The book's amazing but I just think baby Saphira is sooooooo cute! I just wish I read the book first but when I started Mum had read the book and wanted to see the movie! We rented it and I went and bought it next day, was so happy when I continued with the book too!!!!
