Paled compared to the book and they rewrote too much of the story for Hollywood purposes.

It's HORRIBLE if you compare it to the book, but if you see it thinking it to be different, then not bad...
I read the books and they BUTCHERED the books. If they had butchered the Harry Potter movies as badly as they butchered Eragon there would have been mass rioting in the streets. Simply a very poor adaptation that was barely worthy of being a cinematic release.

I haven´t read the book. Books are often better than the movies made from them.
Okay, in all honesty, this is a rarity for me. For once, I totally prefer the movie over the book... I realize Paolini was a first time writer, and he did an amazing job, but it just wasn't my type of book, I guess. The film, however, was outstanding!
The book series are way better but the movie is pleasant to watch even though its not entirely accurate
Complete rip-off of Star Wars, only with bad special effects, bad dialoug, and boring characters. The only good thing that can be said is that the dragon was cute in the beginning (and then magically grows older quickly with no explaination).

This movie was wicked! I loved the dragon and the whole medieval aspect of the story. It entertained to the very end with great twists and suspense.
I want a baby dragon. Bit of a copy of lord of the rings like but enjoyed it

I liked the book but for some reason this movie makes a huge leap in the story just to make due to action pack parts.

the special effects are magical but that's pretty the only good thing about the film. The acting was bad, dialogue was horrid and the pacing makes you wanna say "hurry up already!"
