Critic Reviews

  • Steve Crum, Video-Reviewmaster.com

Typical, typical Ernest nonsense, cookie cutter funny.

  • Clint Morris, Moviehole

    Feverishly funny family fun

  • Fred Topel, About.com

Ernest did much better in some of the follow-ups.

  • Luke Y. Thompson, New Times

Totally undeserving of its status as a punchline, this may be no classic but it's a fine kiddie tale

  • Audrey Rock-Richardson, Tooele Transcript-Bulletin (Utah)

Just exactly like every other Ernest movie you've ever seen. And yet, Varney's innocent playfulness is somehow oddly appealing.

As a child I loved this film very much. I'm giving it a good rating for prosperity!

It was one of the better. That's not saying much.

Funny stuff. I liked Ernest and I thought this was pretty good as a kid. This was the best of the Ernest movies by far. Pretty good for a character who originated on local tv car dealership commercials.
