I wish I had time to watch every movie out there but since I don't I have to be picky about what I choose to watch. This one didn't make the cut because I don't think I'll like it or don't know enough about it to think I might like it.
Awesome Movie ! I saw it like 2 years back and loved it. Nothing related to the the main anime and the story line is like totally different but the movie on it's own is pretty good ^_^ a must see ^_^
A highly condensed, almost too fast-paced, rehash of the series...with a storyline that is only moderately similar to the series. If you had to pick only one you could watch, choose the series.
Hmm i don't know if this movie came out after the series or before the series??
any AWSOME ( i keep saying that alot =/) i love the series too, but it's different like when they meet, i thought that Hitomi would come back and to Van, but still really amuzing, I remember some of the charathers name, I GOT TO HAVE THIS MOVIE, THE SERIES AND THE MAGNA =D, at the end i wish Van and Hitomi would KISS, i was dying to see them kiss and maybe Van can come to Hitomi's world to be with her, and get married too =3 ,I love the part where Van speard his wings and recuse Hitomi, again AWSOME MOVIE
Really cool story and great visuals make Escaflowne a great film. But you'll need to stomach all the blood. One of the deeper anime films i've seen in terms of story. One drawback though is that it runs alittle long for some.
Very good film.
The imagination and animation that went into this is awesome especially considering when it was made. Vivid plot and crazy characters... I love this movie
This movie is definitely better if you've seen the anime series, as you'll "get" the characters a little more quickly, but it's still quite fun to watch on its own. It's very much eye candy.. Oh, and if you *have* watched the anime? The movie is kind of..a loose 'retelling' of the anime's storyline, just fyi. ;)
Ilmeisesti sarja uudelleen muokattuna elokuvamuotoon.
i love the series...havent actually seen the movie though so im rating based on the series....it has a good story, sad ending and an exceptional musical score!!
I was hoping this would continue on from the series which I loved. but alas it simply condensed all the plot into an unnecessary film. although it is still worth watching for the animation in it, there is little else of substance here
This movie looks gorgeous and the music is fabulous... had I not seen and loved the TV-series then i would have rated it higher but it just didn't feel right to me...
It's awsome! I loved it because it kept me etertained all throw the movie I'm working on getting the series because I loved the movie and no one I know has the series so I'm gonna buy it so I can understand it more better and re watch it anytime I want because I can' t get enough of it. It's like all the other anime I watch like Berserk, Sailor Moon, Inuyasha, and Bastard. I love em all and I have my uncle James to thank for bringing me on to these anime. I lvoe Escaflowne and I hope to see more of it in the future.
Now I want to get the series. What fun to have a connection with an entire other world and the ability to travel there! Reminds me a bit of the Inuyasha anime series. It's neat.
I'm quite impressed with the sheer quality of this film. The art and music just sing; it's more of a somewhat alternate take than what the anime was, but it does so in a way it stands on it's own. Truely one of the best adaptations of its kind I've ever seen.
Many people rate the anime better than the movie, but I believe the movie captures the best parts of the anime and is sometimes even better than its counter-part.
