Were the animals necessary? The ending proved to be quite lame, and it did not seem as comedic as Bruce Almighty. In fact, the whole movie seemed different from the original.

Good family comedy. Evan Baxter character too closely resembled Michael Scott but he was still funny. Definitely worth watching.

Inutile de le voir... je suis certain qu'en mettant bout à bout et dans le bon ordre tous les previews, l'intégral du fil y est.

It was pretty bad. Steve Carell and Lauren Graham were the only good parts about it. Sorry God, I don't know what they were thinking.

shouldn't of made this... not a comedy like the first, too much bible hugging family goodness, not what I expected after the first one. Not a fan of animals in movies either...I thought they would be all CGI, but no.

It is a funny and well acted flix for all the family with a excellent moral.
The special effects were so well done that we wondered which animals were real and which were not.
    I really enjoyed this movie.

Very different story line from Bruce Almighty. Some good comedy lines throughout the movie. If you liked the first one then you are sure to take to the second one!

"Let me ask you something. If someone prays for patience, you think God gives them patience? Or does he give them the opportunity to be patient? If he prayed for courage, does God give him courage, or does he give him opportunities to be courageous? If someone prayed for the family to be closer, do you think God zaps them with warm fuzzy feelings, or does he give them opportunities to love each other?"

Believe it or not, they actually tried to incorporate a message into this.. but for me it just didn't come out like it was expected to. I don't understand how they can have this so called 'comedy' and expect to have a message like this come through. A lot of people are saying, and I completely agree, that this is nothing like Bruce Almighty. That movie I actually laughed out loud at, a lot of times.. the only funny jokes in this I just smiled at. Nothing outrageously funny like some people would expect from Steve Carell. It's like a more biblical version, though the story has no similarities. I even noticed that Steve Carell's character, Evan Baxter, was quite a lot different than we see in Bruce Almighty. So I found myself comparing this to Bruce Almighty, maybe not such a great idea.

It's actually quite a funny, yet stupid idea for the plot. Evan Baxter moves to a new town, leaving his career as a News Reporter. He becomes a congressman when he movies to his new house with his wife and three kids. It's not long after they movie that Evan is approached by God, who suggests that Evan builds an Ark in preparation for a flood. First Evan thinks it's all a joke, but soon two of every animal start to follow him to work and everywhere he goes.. and he works out that in order to get rid of them he must build the ark. Apparently, it's also a great way for his family to bond building it together... And so Evan Baxter becomes Noah.

Steve Carell was no where near as funny as you'd expect.. not that it's completely his fault. The script gave him only a few chances to make his part entertaining. I would have liked to see Morgan Freeman in more of this flick, he was great for his 'small' part. Lauren Graham was worse than average, unconvincing and made some scenes with her character seem just.. stupid. Wanda Sykes and Jonah Hill were some of the more interesting characters, Jonah made me smile the most out of anyone in this.

So this was a slightly less than average film.. if you do see this, don't expect to see anything like Bruce Almighty.

Ok so... I understand the moral of the story... but all those animals weren't even from that area. They didn't need an ark, they needed to stay home. It only flooded a strip of the city.

Oh, Steve Carrell ... what were you thinking? Also, shame on you, Lauren Graham! As for Jonah Hill, I'm not surprised ...

boring and predictable. Steve Carell is a one-role actor. The best twist in the whole movie was that the ARK actually stood for an act of random kindness.

The second part of the Almighty story, with Evan from the first movie... Evan wants to change the world and god give him that chance, buth not in the way Evan wants to... God asks Evan to build an ark for every single animal in the world! Very funny movie!

Expected more from this movie...it's Steve Carrell for goodness sakes!!! It's fairly entertaining, you won't be horribly disappointed, though the plot is kinda bad/awkward...

I am not much of a mainstream comedy fan, but decided to give this a try after watching Steve Carell in Dan In Real Life. I'm glad I took the chance because unlike the over-the-top antics of Jim Carrey, Carell's brand of subtle humor is more to my liking and I really enjoyed this. Also can't go wrong with Morgan Freeman and Lauren Graham co-starring. Cute movie with a message, but one that thankfully doesn't become too preachy.

Not as good OR funny as Bruce Almighty. I only really liked the animals helping out building the ark.

I think they used the tag along title from the first one just to get people to watch it personally. This one didn't have the main character become God like in the first one, just had him become referenced with a biblical character not to save the world, but to save a small, rich community. I thought it was pretty crappy in the story department, but I will admit the comedy aspects were well done.

Bruce Almighty, which starred Jim Carrey, was a pretty average comedy with a few laughs and was overall fun. This sequel, which stars Steve Carrell, isn't as fun or funny as its predecessor. Despite its star cast it follows a formula which we've seen in other family films such as 'The Santa Clause', Eddy Murphy's 'Dr. Dolittle' and of course Bruce Almighty.

even almigty containes no "bruce" therfore, no Jim carry = not good / funny .

it just doesn't make scense to make a sequal to a movie without the main character!

Okay, i really tried to give this one a chance. I wanted to laugh, i almost forced myself to laugh, but i just wasn't able to croak one out! I kept waiting, and waiting, and WAITING for this movie to get funny, but it never really happened! There may have been three or four parts that may have been slightly amusing, but i just couldn't muster up the strength to get a nice jolly laugh going.
The whole thing was rediculous, and went a little overboard in the good, clean, family humor department. It was corny, and predictable, and to be prefectly honest i think i would have had a better time sitting through oral surgery than attempting to watch this flick.

Bruce Almighty was a much better movie in my opinion.

    thumbs down

I avoid Jesus/God Movies like the plague but i found that this movi wasnt to bad...

Steve Carell's character Evan looked stunning as 'Noah'

I suppose being one of those movies with a 'Moral behind the story' flick.

John Goodman seems to be scaring me more and more as time goes by...
