I avoid Jesus/God Movies like the plague but i found that this movi wasnt to bad...
Steve Carell's character Evan looked stunning as 'Noah'
I suppose being one of those movies with a 'Moral behind the story' flick.
John Goodman seems to be scaring me more and more as time goes by... -
I read mag reviews that gave this movie 2 stars out of 5. WTF???? am i the only one who found this funny???
-
it wasnt bad.
but the 1st one was better
there is no way steve carell can beat jim carrey in bein funny.
still a good movie for the whole family -
eeeeeh. i thought that evan's past as the anchor would somehow connect to this movie. so it's kinda awkward to forget about his "evil ways"

I LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!! very very well-done!!! not as good as Bruce Almighty! Steve Carell is GREAT, though! Still, it was pretty damn funny.
-
Saw this on the plane and it was not as cheesy as I thought it would be. Steve Carrell is a comic genius.
-
The kids absolutely loved it and good fun for us aswell. Possible better than Bruce Almighty. Fan-frigging-tastic.

This movie was much better than I expected. Funny and beautiful. Okay the story itself is a bit unbelievable but the point is strong. And I like the animals. Steve Carell surprised me and Morgan Freeman is always good!
-
Bruce Almighty was better. But the only reason I went to see it was because I'm a fan of Lauren Graham. I do like Steve Carell for his role in Litle Miss Sunshine, but I was a bit bored in this movie.

This one is really not for the seekers of a fulfilling cimnematic experience. The actor I first recognized really was Lauren Graham, whom you will remember from The Gilmore Girls, of course, and here she takes a contrastingly minor role. She plays the wife of Evan (Steve Carell), a newly elected Congressman and busy husband/father who is blessed by God (of course, one of my personal favorites Morgan Freeman) as the modern-day, anciently-equipped and -defined Noah. It's rather an odd film, and its credibility is supposed to come from the incredibility of the supporting characters -- that is, the audience is associated with Evan's wife, coworkers, etc., who do not believe in Evan's supposedly God-sanctioned quest to build the legendary Ark. We are supposed to develop credibility with these skeptical charcters' development of belief... It's a nice try, and if you have a heart and you're a sap for Freeman then you are able to climb onto the wagon. It's sort of strange, and in a different line of humor (as in, no laughs at all) than Jim Carey's Bruce Almightly, which I personally enjoyed much more, but it's touching and a good one to give the kids. Let's say it's limitedly targeted and minorly entertaining.

Umm... If the ark was just to save the neighborhood from the dam breaking, why did every kind of animal, even exotic ones, have to be on it? Stupid.

I was pretty scared of the g rating - but ive found that I have a soft spot for family movies. I'd dont think ive ever said i've hated a family movie before. Anyway this was pretty run of the mill - and not that funny. Except for Wanda Sykes. I was pissing myself becuase everytime she'd say anything and i mean ANYTHING it wouldbe some ghetty black woman joke with the word 'damn' in it. Also, i heard this had a huge budget but the effects - which all happened at the end wern't that great. PS - it really annoyis me when you see that someone has reviewed a movie in your community but theres no way of finding who did it. Who's scene this?
-
it was ok- kind of stupid when you think, why would all those animals come from around the world just because a dam was breaking in one city????

EVAN ALMIGHTY (2007)
directed by Tom Shadyac
starring Steve Carell, Morgan Freeman, Lauren GrahamEvan Baxter, the former news anchor from Bruce Almighty is now a congressman, God appears to him to ask for an Ark, just like the one Noah built. At first he wont believe it but slowly he'll realize Morgan Freeman - who seems to have a lot of fun - wasnt kidding.Evan Almighty is extremely cheesy and it is way too religious for its own sake but its not too pretentious. It has some social critcs, some messages about ecology and the mis-use of power, its also about family.
The first part of the film has some funny moments and lots of cheesy one, the film is predictable but its easily enjoyable for the entire family. Its not great but its not terrible either if you dont expect anything from it.
Steve Carell is funny, he tries hard - a bit too hard - but it pays off cause he gets a few laughs from us. In the end the film doesnt really make sense and seems like everything was a bit too forced but its still cute in its own way.

First there was Bruce and now Evan. This time, its all about Acts of Random Kindness. Well, thats basically the building block of anything you wish to achieve. Be it career, personal or family.
The thought was good but the way it was given away in the film....nah! Too much for me. It wasn't as hilarious as the previous one. -
nothing overly special.
im just not over how much money was spent making this movie....
i mean...
175 million....
transformers didnt cost that much to make....!
"As of June 2007, it is the most expensive comedy film ever made." -
we rented this and i thought i wasnt going to like it much but it was pretty good that wanda sykes really does make it really funny along with the other cast it was good.
-
wow....am ramas :| ...cn zice k i-a plaqt filmul asta....sa stie k nu-l cred...nici nu se compara q bruce almighty
-
this should have been good, carell was in first one as very funny newscaster, but then they give him diferent charactor here, and its just dull, a few alright carell moments, nothing much though, a little better than bruce salmighty
-
It's quite a good sequel to "Bruce Almighty" but it's probably not as funny as I thought it would be! Still very creative and a must see if your into these animal-god-loving movies-lol
-
Not sure which I liked better, Bruce Almighty or Evan Almighty. Evan was funnier, but Bruce was smarter.
-
Fairly goofy spin off of the original. It "had it's moments" but didn't get near the quality of the original.
-
Amazing how they combined lame (weak story, groin-hitting humor, a soundtrack of terrible music) and fucked up (a preachy message, bloated special effects, and Wanda Sykes' whining)! Amazing.
-
I had heard that this wasnt very good, but i enjoyed it for what it was. Good family fun.
Sure its a little cheezy towards the end, but i love watching Steve Carrell ( just an ordinary guy that is so easy to watch) and he did a great job here. -
This critically slammed sequel to 'Bruce Almighty' was actually lots of fun! Maybe it's the low expectations, but I was pleasantly surprised. Some dodgy CGI and the odd flat joke aside, highly enjoyable. Lighthearted and genuinely funny with a wonderful heart and some good performances. None more show stealing than Wanda Sykes though. Any fan of animal montages will not be disappointed.
