Roger Moore, Movie Nation
Entertaining, nostalgic, and more thorough than any history of Bond and his life on the big screen has a right to be.
-
Simon Brookfield, We Got This Covered
Everything or Nothing is one of the best films of the year and the rare documentary that can fascinate, inform and enliven all at the same time.
-
Simon Reynolds, Digital Spy
A superb celebration of Bond's screen history and pop cultural impact.
-
Stephen Carty, Flix Capacitor
It's not really the "Untold Story" as such - but there's plenty of fascinating material regardless.
-
Fr. Chris Carpenter, Movie Dearest
A thoroughly, captivatingly comprehensive tour of 50 years of cinema and cultural history. It's also one of the best, most uniquely crafted documentaries I've seen this year.
-
Jason Best, Movie Talk
It's archive footage of Connery that provides the documentary's best, if somewhat unfair, barb. Asked on US TV to name the first Bond villain, he replies 'Cubby Broccoli'.
-
Rob Carnevale, The List
A hugely enjoyable, if predictably rose-tinted look at the history of the world's biggest and most enduring film franchise.
-
Rich Cline, Contactmusic.com
This lively doc is an entertaining race through 50 years of the 007 franchise. The fast-paced narrative skips over a few things here and there, but focusses nicely on the relationships that have sustained the films over the decades.
-
Neil Smith, Total Film
Untold? Hardly. Yet as Skyfall appetisers go, this thorough survey of how Ian Fleming, Cubby Broccoli and Harry Saltzman created a phenomenon could barely be bettered.
-
Philip French, Observer [UK]
Everything Or Nothing moves as rapidly and as brutally as the bullet Bond fires into our faces ...
-
Jeremy Aspinall, Radio Times
Casual observers will be fascinated, and even Bond obsessives may find something new to chew on ...
-
Shaun Munro, What Culture
Perhaps not a vital examination of the indelible icon, but a frank, funny, and thoroughly captivating one.
-
Tim Robey, Daily Telegraph
Nothing rises above the level of a decently produced DVD extra, but it's one you'd happily watch right through.
-
Joe Cunningham, HeyUGuys
For anyone with even a passing interest in James Bond, it's an essential watch.
-
Derek Malcolm, This is London
It shows what a hairy business it often was to fashion a series of world successes and how it could break as well as make careers.
-
Grant Rollings, Sun Online
It doesn't duck the controversial moments of 007's half a century in cinema and includes interviews with most of the relevant people.
-
Martyn Conterio, Little White Lies
Like a 007 adventure it boasts a great first act then soon settles into a routine formula with questionable treatment of certain individuals.
-
Peter Bradshaw, Guardian [UK]
There's more than enough to enjoy, and plenty about the remarkable and melancholy figure of Fleming himself, who never lived quite long enough to enjoy the success of his creation.
-
Nigel Andrews, Financial Times
Whenever the pace flags (not often) there is another blasting big-screen Bond excerpt, reminding us how hard to resist this series has been ...
-
Henry Fitzherbert, Daily Express
A must for Bond fans and riveting proof that many of Bond's most perilous, high stakes challenges occurred off screen.

It goes without saying that the James Bond series has an interesting history, and has no doubt obtain a huge fan base over the course of fifty years. Yet, not even some of the most loyal of Bond fans ever heard of Everything or Nothing: The Untold Story of 007. This documentary on the James Bond series has it flaws, but it's a documentary that'll please fans and the average movie viewers alike.
This documentary tells the history of James Bond in chronological order. It's goes in depth about Ian Fleming and how he came to invent the character. We get interesting trivia like where James Bond name originated, Fleming addiction to writing these novel, Lanenby being send a woman for a sexuality test, and other interesting trivia. The information on Ian Fleming is represented in an interesting manner as we get to learn about Ian Fleming struggle to get the novels made into films, and ultimately a reflection of the author and how he's not so different from his creation. After the film gets pass Ian Fleming the documentary then change focus to the film series. The documentary is best when it's focusing on the endeavors the producers to sustain the license, success, and relevant of the series throughout the decades. Each actor return to give their own insights on the film series, and yes Pierce Brosnan discusses the invisible car. Out of the all the actors that portrayed Bond it's George Lazenby who despite only portraying James Bond once, has the most interesting insight of how he started to believe he was the character. The footage here helps send the message across better and wise choices of footage from the series is a plus for nostalgia value. The best part of the film is that it appeals to every audiences whether or not they are familiar with the series.
Though the documentary does have some flaws. One main one flaw is the documentary makes Sean Connery very unlikable, and representing him as this rude and thoughtless actor. The documentary never focuses on the Bond girls which is one of the key element in the series. Some information is certainly missing as some actors have more screen time to give their insight with Daniel Craig receiving the least amount of time. Though for it flaws it makes up for having actors, president Bill Clinton, and family and producer to talk about the whole Bond experience. It does overlooked or avoid discussing some topics signatures to the Bond series, but there is more than enough to satisfy.
Everything or Nothing: The Untold Story of 007 represents it's information on a long running series in an entertaining manner that it never feels like the documentary is just throwing information at you. It might as not be thorough as some might hope when discussing everything Bond related, but it's an interesting documentary to for anyone to check out.
