One of the best horror film of all time. much better than the original film. This sequel has a bigger budget and is a lot funnier. Bruce Campbell has more screen time, which is groovy !
Evil Dead 2 manages to strike a perfect balance between the head-on horror of the first movie and the silly over-the-top comedy of Army of Darkness. The result is a movie that hits all the horror genre high points while never taking itself to seriously. A truly excellent movie.
A very enjoyable film. Sam Raimi really knows how to pull off the right mixture of horror and comedy. And the fact that he's a crazy guy doesn't hurt either. A great sequal/remake of the original. Kudos to you Mr. Raimi.
Possibly one of the greatest movies of all time. Not only is it one of my favorite horror films, it's also quite funny. A must see for any movie fan!!!
Evil Dead II: Dead by Dawn is the sequel to the ultimate experience in grueling terror. Evil Dead II is the definitive cult flick and perhaps my favorite horror film (top five at least). Bruce Campbell takes on the role of Ash once again in this hilariously horrific sequel to a legendary movie. Few sequels live up to the original and fewer still surpass it. This is one of those rare instances. This movie is out of this world. Sam Raimi is a genius with a camera and has gone on to create some damn fine films. He deserves every amount of success he has gained. The script is inventive, highly original, and funny as all hell. It's a mix of horror, laughs, and gore; or splatstick as Campbell calls it. Once again, Campbell's facial expressions alone are worth the price of admission. If that doesn't get you the laughing deer head will. Evil Dead II: Dead By Dawn is a true horror masterpiece. A completely original concept, some screwy camera angles, and one Bruce Campbell make for an entertaining combination. If you don't like it, "I'll swallow your soul, I'll swallow your soul."
A very weak movie. I don't know why Sam Raimi would think that someone would allow the Book of the Dead to be spoken again, but seriously, Bruce Campbell's character should have learned from last time. This movie sucked.
Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell step it up another notch with this fantastic sequel! An excellent mix of scares and laughs make it one of the best horror movies ever.
The best of the Evil Dead movies, this triumph of style over substance manages to be very, very funny throughout- something the first movie wouldn't relax and let itself be.
Not really as important as the first one, and not as campy as Army of Darkness, so nothing special. However, the commentary on the dvd between Raimi and Campbell might be the funniest audio commentary out there.
After the first one tried to be scary and failed, they just redid pretty much the same story, with a slightly bigger budget, more effects, and added humor. This movie will always be one of my favorites.
Blah blah blah Bruce Campbell. Blah blah blah Groovy. Blah blah blah Chainsaw onto his arm. Seriously, this review writes itself. This is just one of those movies that needs to be seen, and if you don't I will send an army of gnomes to totally kick you in the shin whilst you sleep. For real.
