Exit Elena
With no place to call home, 19-year-old Elena takes a job as a live-in aide. She finds herself thrust into the middle of a family in crisis: all the things that go on between a father, grandmother, mother, and cat. Eventually, Elena strikes something of a balance though... That is, until the prodigal son returns home. Placing fictional characters alongside real people, 'Exit Elena' is shot through with all the rough edges inherent to family life and home movie form - in short, it's a dark comedy.(c) Official Site

Critic Reviews from Rotten Tomatoes

"Using mostly amateur performers and improvised dialogue, Mr. Silver has created a profoundly awkward riff on dysfunction that's uneventful but not unrewarding."
‑ Jeannette Catsoulis, New York Times
"Silver locates the ordinary madness bubbling just beneath the surface of his own life, and flickers of lunacy abound ..."
‑ Calum Marsh, Village Voice
"Nathan Silver's film is a quiet and affecting micro-budgeted drama, its condensed frame evoking the claustrophobic feeling of the household it examines."
‑ Nick Usen, Slant Magazine
