This is interesting: Hackman as the bad guy, as usual, and none other than HUGH GRANT as the hero! No this is not a comedy film; yes he is the lead in a straight thriller! Of course he can't carry it but the anti-hippocratic concept is interesting, and this is yet another very odd Michael Apted decision.
Extreme Measures loses credibility near the climax when it sacrifices its hold on reality, but this entertaining, intelligent thriller effectively applies a formulaic plot to the complicated et

A high-concept movie, to be sure, but fun simply because the first half is set in an Emergency Room. AND, Hugh Grant, Gene Hackman, and Sarah Jessica Parker make it even more fun.

Exciting thriller/suspense. Whether you like it or not, it provokes the thought of what you would do.

A surprisingly good film. You found yourself understanding the pain the culprits were going through but you wished that had chosen a different way to make history.

Thank goodness Hugh Grant made at least one film where he wasn't completely type cast. This actually had a really good story to it, I really enjoyed it

Gene Hackman is wasted in a journeyman "thriller" in which Hugh Grant proves he can't do serious either.

Arguably Hugh Grant's finest performance. The drama is fantastic and the cast is amazing from David Morse's harsh crooked FBI agent to Gene Hackman's brilliance, this movie is a must see.

I've accidentally seen this one twice...quite strange, thought it was 'nine months' for the first fifteen minutes both times. Interesting sci-fi pretence.

Gene Hackman's character was awesome, he totally figured out a way to use the ever-present bum population as a resource and benefitted humanity as a result.

This movie is serious balls... breaking homeless peoples spines then trying to fix them.... why fix them? anyway... this is a sack of crap and Gene Hackman is in the middle of a slump when he made this movie... I like to call it the Pacino-slump... when a great actor can't stop playing the same character for a period of time... pacino did it for like 20 years... now hes good again... hackman fell into for about 6 years and now hes less terrible....
