Was a very interesting flick. Was very cool for the day I'd imagine. Had some very good old school fliming moves. Well acted. My only issues is that they never really explained her "special sight". But was well never the less.
This 70s thriller is one of my favorites, the storyline is just so creepy. Laura Mars (Faye Dunaway) is an artist who photographs sexy models for a living. When she starts seeing through the eyes of a killer as he murders his victims, she enlists the aid of a detective (Tommy Lee Jones) to help find the killer, before he finds her! Good 70s disco clothing and tunes! K.C., Heatwave, Michael Zager Band, Odyssey, and one of my fave Streisand songs! But don't let the soundtrack scare you off of this great 70s paranormal mystery!
A solid supernatural horror/thriller that has solid acting by Faye Dunaway, Tommy Lee Jones and rest of the cast. While the plot isn't anything new and the ending didn't make sense (I got it but it still doesn't make sense) but it does have it's tense moments.
Very Dario Argento-esque in its tone and insanity, if not its style. Worth watching for the great supporting cast. Dourif is great, Raul Julia is slimy and fun and Tommy Lee Jones kicks ass instead of just playing some boring old guy again.
Laura Mars (Dunaway) is a New York fashion photographer whose life in the fast-lane screeches to holt when a number of acquainatnces are bumped off in a series of bloody murders. To make matters worse she actually witnesses them through the eyes of the killer.
To begin with, yes Barbara Streisand does sing the theme tune but don't let this painful experience put you off watching the rest of the film since this is pure, unadulterated trash. Big hair, pounding disco music and over-the-top performances are the order of the day and this all rounded off with some delightfully disastrous improvised dialogue.
Obviously influenced by the Italian Giallo genre, this film, believe it or not, is based on a story by John Carpenter (although he disowned the film). For fans of bad movies this will be a natural choice and is worth renting solely for the most absurd murder motive ever committed to film.
This is trash of the highest order and should become a instant hit for those who like bad movies.
Undeniably stupid thriller that still manages to milk out some style along the way. Well-acted, but this is another "surprise" ending that I guessed long before I was supposed to.
