This is the best Christian movie I have ever seen in my life! I laughed, I cried, and I screamed for the team! I would recomend this movie to everyone out there!!!!!!!!
My crazy school teachers used to play this movie all over again. I don't know how but I always get myself trapped under the circumstances and watch it again. Actually this is one sentimental Christian movie. But those stupid actings are clearly unforgivable. I had enough mocking this film with my fellow friend Marv. Personally, I don't like it. But if you're looking for something that touch you in the deep places, this is the movie for you.
Absolutely heart-warming. I loved how every circumstance that happened in the movie was realistic. Overall, it inspired me to be a more hopeful person, and to always look to God in times of stress.
An uplifting Christian-heavy football movie with a decent budget. Sappy and predictable at times, it offers hope for those who need to win. There were respectable production values considering the movie was funded by a smaller studio.
i think this movie really shows how God can work in your life !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm still digesting this one. It is low budget and I was immediately worried because the acting seemed so bad, but Kendrick comes into it with some powerful scenes and a surprising range!
He is also the director and co-writer. I was also surprised by the intelligent writing (though there are cliches) and that it was not nearly as contrived as it could have been.
Like I said, some surprisingly powerful scenes (particularly the "death crawl"), originality, range, humor, a strong testimony of Christ, and the kids were good, too.
The negatives: low budget (but you would not know it by the cinematography), some bad acting, some of the dialogue, and the biggest heartbreak -- it's not a true story.
Sadly, the last fact made the movie more of a fairy tale than an inspirational piece, but I still have to recommend it. Christians will particularly love it and most people will likely be moved by it.
I rented this with a few friends. 2 girls & 2 guys. Our ages ranged from mid twenties to mid 40's. Watching this film we all had the same reaction. In the beginning we were thinking "The dialog is kind of weak and the acting is mediocre" but about 30 minutes into the film it we no longer had that impression at all instead we were rather sucked in to the story. By the time the movie had ended not one of us had escaped the tear factory. We were all moved by the story and even more so when we realized that the reason we initially felt the acting was mediocre was because they weren't actors but real folks who had lived the story we just watched. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to see a good quality inspirational film made by everyday Joes.
I usually don't like football films, I think the only one I ever really enjoyed was Radio. Only because Radio's underlying message had nothing to do with football, and that's why I loved Facing The Giants. It was produced by a Christian Church, and is meant to be a Christian film. If you believe in your faith and in God, you owe it to yourself to give this film a try. It's clean and for the whole family, and makes you stop and think that if you're feeling down, you can always look up to God for help. I love this movie.
I hate football movies for the most part and didn't think this one would be any better. But it completely suprised me. This movie had a good pace to it, good morals, and was just good overall, it will be well worth your watch. A good family movie.
If you are interested to understand a little more about Christian beliefs, that is a great opportunity to you; It is a great movie, preaching good family values, the results of faith in God and how he can make the impossible, possible! I had a great time. It is worth watching.
This wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. I was dreading watching this movie, but it actually turned out to be quite watchable. The Christian message was there but it didn't feel like a "propaganda movie" in the least, and it actually did have a few very stirring moments. (The scene where Brock was crawling across the football field comes to mind - that was as powerful as anything in a mainstream sports movie.) It's still an inspirational sports movie, and the acting is pretty wooden, but I truly was surprised by it. For once in a while, a football movie that claims not to be about football... really *isn't*. Let's just hope that we can churn out Christian movies that make this much money but are higher quality.
wonderful movie. loved it. the acting could have been a little beter. but, the message in this movie is what makes it so good. with god all things are possible.
