A little tongue n cheek storyline, with a slightly different style to most Hitchcock films, which was an enjoyable watch, without being one of the greats. There is very much a comical theme throughout.

This one is shaky. The first part of the movie we are told several times the same bits of information. This, of course, is very UN-Hithcock. Karen Black has little to nothing to do as Fran. This one probably wont be enjoyed by anyone other than Hitchcock fanatics (like myself). T...( read more)here are flourishes of humor throughout, and a very good scene in which Dern and Harris story intersects early on with Devane and Blacks story; however, the whole picture seems more like a sketch than a realized, uh, plot. I say again, this will probably only appeal to those who have already seen the classics: Rear Window, Vertigo, Psycho, The Birds, Rebecca, The 39 Steps, Rope, The Lady Vanishes, Frenzy, Strangers on a Train, and Notorious (to name a few). Once youve whittled your way down to Topaz and Jamaica Inn, you might want to watch this one.

One of Hitchcock's later films, this doesn't really bring anything much to the legacy of the great Hitchcock. This just does not offer anything new.

A phony psychic and her taxi driver boyfriend launch a scam to make 10,000 dollars off an old lady by making her think they are in...( read more) contact with her heir. As it turns out, they do make contact with the heir, who is a kidnapper and a jewel thief.

The whole last half hour was very predictable, and perhaps showed the signs of a man coming to the end of his career who had made all his great moves on screen already.

The master's farewell it's a hell of a fun thriller/dark comedy. great cast and memorable winks, like the Barbara Harris' one at the end. great soundtrack by John Williams. It's true Hitch was old and tired while making this film, but many young filmmakers would die to have a bit...( read more) of his talent. the ending and the mountain road scene are classics.

I always wanted to see this film from start to finish because I'm a big fan of Alfred Hitchcock and of actors, Bruce Dern and Karen Black.

One of the century's most generous artists said 'Goodbye' by giving us this wonderful, wonderful slice of cake.

Hitchcock's last outing is a little goofy & isn't in the league of the masters earlier works but it's all a pretty good time & the 2 hours running time hardly seemed noticed thanks to a strong cast even though Barbara Harris is a little annoying..I wish Ed Lauter was in this more...( read more);sad to see him go off that cliff

Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times

Hitchcock has a deviously complicated tale to tell, and he's going to tell it with labyrinthine detail, and he's not going to cheat. full review
