This is a really fun, sweet movie. I don't usually like road trip movies much, but this one really appealed to me. I guess I have respect for Star Wars nerds (especially when they're up against Trekkies. *shudders* I have a phobia) and I myself speak in dorky film references, whi...( read more)ch endeared all these characters to me. The dialogue and visual gags all hit their marks, and the story, while simple, worked really really well. I love how the writers tiptoed around the fact that Phantom Menace was lousy while not keeping their respect for the saga intact. I'd see this again. I really like it.

Good comedy about Star Wars fans taking a road trip. Highlight - fight between them and the trekkies

This comedy about a couple of geeks who plan to break into George Lucas' Skywalker ranch to see Star Wars Episode 1 months before the start for their dying friend is a riot - although mostly for Star Wars fans. They will be the ones who get the tons of quotes, references, cameos ...( read more)and details. And who will cheer on the lovably geeky heroes when they take on Trekkies in several hilarious encounters. The cast consist of comedy newcomers (Seth Rogen in 3 roles, Kristen Bell) and genre veterans (Billy Dee Williams, Carrie Fisher, Ray Park, Kevin Smith and...erm...Will Shatner). The result is fast, the humor sometimes a little below the belt but always likable and the characters grow on you with every minute. And in the end it's even really touching. Extra bonus for refraining from any "Episode 1"-bashing. Certainly the movie the fandom has been waiting for. A love declaration to friendship, movies and geekiness. And the soundtrack is pretty awesome, too.

If you are living in the 90s and you find out your friend is going to die ( I know kind of bummer in a comedy...but no one is perfect... ) what better way to have him spend his last days, then to break into Skywalker ranch and watch an illegal copy of Episode One?
Fanboys is the...( read more) ultimate Stars Wars fan quest. It finally answers the question....yes Star Wars fan are cooler and could kick the asses of Star Trek fans.
I really this film. I found myself laughing a lot. Sam Huntington was great, I have liked him since Detriot Rock City. OK, who am I kidding, I have really liked him since Jungle 2 Jungle. So I like Tim Allen, I know, I am going to Hell... Dan Fogler was very funny in this movie. He and the cameos made this film for me. Although Kevin Smith was originally supposed to play Harry Knowles, Ethan Supplee was very funny. I am a fan of his. Seth Rogan's role's were great. I loved the cameo by Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes. Lewd comedy at it's classic best. Although there was a longer version of the cameo in the extras, I wish there would have been more. What can I say I do love my Jay and Silent Bob. Given an R rating, this film would have been in my top ten. But, we all know how I feel about toning things done for the masses...Just say NO!
Over all I have to give Fanboys a decent rating. It was funny, and that is a good thing.

I waited 3 years for this movie, and though it did not live up to many peoples expectations I still loved its charm.

Totally awesome! 4 geeky Star Wars fanboys embark on a trip to Skywalker Ranch to steal a rough cut copy of The Phantom Menace before it's in the cinemas so that one of them who's dying from cancer gets to see it. I'll admit to being a big Star Wars fan so I loved the quotes, ref...( read more)erences to the movies and other Lucas works plus the cameos from such people as 'The Shatner' and Kevin Smith with Jason Mewes. The main characters are very likeable and the running battle between the 4 and some Star Trek fans (with Seth Rogen under some Klingon make-up) is very funny. The soundtrack is pretty good too featuring some classic Rush tunes. Anybody into Star Wars and pop culture will love this fun movie.
