MCT:August 7, 2008Much better than I expected it to be - and I think this was also a stronger movie than the first one.
Seeing the first "Fantastic Four" movie is a must, though; some references and characters come straight from there.
The movie looks as stunning as they can make it these days. The acting isn't any better than is required in this type of film. There is also a moral lesson, taken to heart, and which in the end decides the fate of the Earth - literally.
Some things are a bit hurriedly explained, perhaps cut out as well, but altogether this movie works - and is very funny too!
Also, on a side of SPOILERS:
I rather like what they did with Galactus, and how they linked the Silver Surfer into it all. (I haven't read more than a few issues of Fantastic Four, but to me that link was fascinating and a bit shocking, though as soon as it was admitted there was some other, big bad guy, I did guess right.) -
MCT:August 5, 2008Fantastic 4 takes the tired superhero genre and tries to show how superheroes deal with fame, rather than the usual hatred. This is a mildly interesting idea, but in these cack-handed films, it utterly fails under the flat unlikeable characters, wooden actors, atrocious dialogue, unexplained character and plot developments, not to mention how the Fantastic 4 are the worst superheroes ever, selfish, slow and not particularly skilled.
So what's new this film? Nothing, except a silver special effect who is just as boring and grumpy as everyone else. This mysterious alien is destroying Earth, and the four superheroes have to stop him. The Silver Surfer is not at all sympathetic, and yet apparently we're supposed to care. What do you mean he could have stopped the murdering AT ANY TIME? What a git.
And surprise, surprise, the Fantastic 4 have not learned since the last film when they didn't bother to ask if Dr Doom happened to have superpowers too, so he became the villain. This film, despite his miraculous recovery, and their mistrust of him, they don't bother to check whether he still has superpowers and might possibly be a threat, say, in the finale of the film. Also, they don't think twice about murdering him, again, just to add to their status as worst superheroes ever.
Dull, awful, pants... But there's plenty to laugh at. (That's AT, not with). -

Good movie, but i'm biased when it comes to comic movies. One of the better comic movies though if your not really into them.

MCT:August 1, 2008oh; it is so more excited than the fantastic four in 2005. i like jessica alba and chris evans and i enjoy the silver surfer's rol. i enjoy scines fiction movie alot.;-)

Actions super but has not got a good sensible story......
Exciting and more fun than the first. I feel like the FF are coming together with more humor and caring that is welcome and so fitting. I loved the story line, but didn't like the Silver Surfer as CG. The Hulk needs to be CG, the Silver Surfer does not; he's human-sized. They should have let Vin Diesel play the role. He wanted to. But it is a fun film and I hope to see a third one out with Tim Story directing again. I have a feeling the threat will be Namor and Atlantis .

leaps and bounds better than the terrible first outing, the ideas are better the story is better the tone is more entertaining and its not just one for the kids to enjoy either. It not on par with the big boys but frankly it never tries to be and that only adds to the appeal. i had no intrest in this and it gripped me and convinced me and considering my major gripes on the first film it deserves credit for that alone. If they make a third hopefully it will improve even further.

I always get suckered into watching this superhero crap. With the exception of 2008 (Dark Knight, Hellboy, Wanted, Iron Man) this genre is full of epic fail.

This movie should call Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver: The Comedy.This movie could become The worst comic adaptation with GHOST RIDER.

Omg THis movie is so boring, thier are alot of super hero movies even some really boring ones (hulk) but this one is one of the worst, sure the charecters are pretty, and U would think thier fun but thier just boring, they do nothing, they just talk and talk and talk, this should be a sitcome not a super hero movie. thier powers arnt really even used to save the world, all they did was make silver surfer good, yay thanks alot. I dont give a F*** this movie sucks Dont watch it. just pass it along.

In this somewhat viable sequel to the Fantastic Four, the dreaded Galactus sends his surfing herald, the Silver Surfer, to blow holes in Earth's surface. Nice effects but a kind of weak premise, and the military's all too easy capture of the Surfer, ridiculous.

Loved it! Besides the one big mishap all the comic book fans will probably be disappointed about (but seriously everything else is very faithful to the comics in this movie) it was very entertaining! Another example of pure popcorn entertainment that isn't trying to be more than it should be...WHAT IS SO WRONG WITH THAT?!...nothing, exactly...GO WATCH IT! (I refuse to comment on the acting considering it's just a dream come true seeing the characters on screen...aka I admit to having a BIAS in this case)

i saw this movie and it was good to me and i keep on watching it to. i like the part when the silver man have to save there home and the way he had work the board. i wish i could do that anyways it was a nice movie.

This movie was way better than the first one. The creators stuck to the story that was in the comic books. The only thing I disagree with is that the Silver Surfer does not get his power from his board. He can call his board back to him at will, and he can even recreate it if it is damaged. Other than that, excellent movie.
