Much more family-friendly and better than the original. The sequel definitely makes going to the movies worthwhile.

As a fan of the Silver surfer comics i have to say I'm disappointed. The actors are ok but the script and story are possibly the worse I?ve seen in a long, long time!

Slightly better than the first, the look of the Silver Surfer is er...ice cool hehe the 4 are ok..alittle cheesey looking but ok. Again I've seen this type of story line before (planet eating baddie) but its not too bad, but not great either.

A worthy sequel with some great effects, an introduction to a new character and a mix of powers make an entertaining watch.

The worst superhero movie known to man. This is one of the worst movies I have ever seen/.The dialogue is awful the plot is idiotic and the acting is so ridiculous.Even the title is stupid.I hate this movie with a huge passion.
Critic Reviews
Sure, the CGI work is all pro and the Silver Surfer effect is a cool visual but the dumb lines and forced chemistry just don't cut it. full review
Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer is more ambitious than its predecessor. It's also more cluttered and less fleet: The light, pleasingly casual quality of the first picture has evolved into so... full review
In Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, our heroes get what they deserve: a decent action flick with a jolt of visual wow. full review
The film fails to sustain its modest running time of 87 minutes. full review
Although FF:ROTSS comes from the same place as Spider-Man (New York, and Marvel editor Stan Lee's noggin), this sequel to the 2005 Fantastic Four debut is lackluster, even by comparison to the lacklus... full review
The target audience appears to be Cartoon Network fans. Anyone outside that category is likely to find Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer a dull slog no avalanche of razzle-dazzle digital hooey... full review
Rise of the Silver Surfer doesn't aspire to much. It just happens to have the three things it needs -- velocity, artistry and a pretty good story. full review
It's not egregiously awful like the first film. Just plain awful in that formula way that kills your spirit and all hope for summer movies. full review
These B-list demigods are so proudly, intergalactically mediocre that both the 2005 original and the follow-up tend to disable my super-snark beam. full review

October 19, 2007This movie was way better than the first one. The creators stuck to the story that was in the comic books. The only thing I disagree with is that the Silver Surfer does not get his power from his board. He can call his board back to him at will, and he can even recreate it if it is damaged. Other than that, excellent movie.
