Todd Solondz's first film feels more like a really demented Woody Allen movie then a Solondz movie, but there are definitely hints of what was to come. Solondz himself, hates the movie, but I'm not Solondz, and I love it.

"I'm a neat kind of guy"!!!(forgotten great songs of the 80's)

Todd Solondz sings the songs you love!...his dirtiest secret (not pedophelia, child abuse, or sexual perversion)...the truth is far more embarrassing and confessional...basically he mad...(read more) e a pretty terri...( read more)ble and kinda funny version of "Annie Hall" in the 80's, staring himself in the Allen role, that is, to quote reviews of his play within the film, "pathetically personal and self-conscious".

I kinda enjoyed it at parts, not as good as "Welcome To The Dollhouse", had he not gone on to bigger and better things I probably wouldn't have watched this, but since I have I really can't get these songs out of my head.

    More on this latter...

A lost classic. The debut movie by Todd Solondz. I love the character Junk. Sadly, Solondz says this may never be released on DVD.

The acting was abysmal. Todd Solondz is a shitty actor and should stick to making movies and not being in them. His stutter made me want to punch him in the face. I didn't laugh once. The end.

Like most people I always assumed Solondz' first movie was Welcome to the Dollhouse. So to find there's an earlier one is intriguing.
