One of the many films certain lazy hack used as a base to his female revenge flick. Female Prisoner Scorpion manages to stand above many women-in-jail xplotation flicks of it's time for two solid reasons: Its use of surreal psycodelic images, and the cast of Meiko Kaji in the lead role, who i would say is truly one of the few actresses i have seen that can express so much with so little. She has this unique aura of beauty and mistery, and at the same time, actual acting skills that makes her a timeless cult icon. What can i say, i love that woman, that look she makes to her enemies is hypnotic.
If you're going to see just one film of women in jail then this is the one (the second film is even wackier, so i have heard) Showing how even in such a xploited topic in cinema back in those days Japan was still ages ahead of many counterparts in other parts of the world. -

A cult film from the Women In Prison genre, very popular in the 70's, the type of film that show us the xploitation of the women where suffer all kind of abuse and violence, but to the end they the chance of take revenge of all this opression.
Meiko Kaji is one of the most beautiful women that i've seen in a long time, her intense eyes and mystic and dangerous presence make this film more enjoyable.
A must see. -
MCT:December 31, 20061972 exploitation flick cum rape revenge drama/women behind bars flick. It has gallons of squirting blood, naked women galore and plenty of mean prison guard offering their idea of fair treatment. It may be the same age as me but it looks pretty fresh today if you ignore some long zoom close ups etc. The dvd transfer I watched was great too.
