Plot: The magical inhabitants of a rainforest called FernGully fight to save their home that is threatened by logging and a polluting force of destruction called Hexxus.
this has some not bad touches for a kids film but ultimatley compared to counter parts its more brave little toaster than it is lion king.
I had seen this movie when it first came out in the theater back when i was a kid. I remember it well because i had my first date with a girl to this movie....LOL..
A good movie. I remember watching years ago and now I am watching it with my niece.
A movie with a good message about conservation. The animation maybe a bit dated, but it is still a good movie.
Childhood memories. is what this movie is. Of course, you can never forget the wonderful world of faries. ^.^ and then the odd bat that just some how fits ironqly in with the whole "I love the world" theme. Some how, this movie ended up giving a message, which is believe in things that dont exsist, and, humans are disgusting when it comes to the rainforest. ^.^ by disgusting i really mean horrible/hideous/ i hate them.
<333 i love ferngully <33
This was a decent animated film. It was funny at parts but that was mostly because mostly Robin Williams played the bat. The story was decent and it really did have some great characters. The animation could of been a little bit better and the story could of been a little more solid. But overall, it was ok.
Absoultely awsome one of those classic films you'll always remember, and with a moral thats rather valid at the minute.
I've loved this movie since I was like 3 years old! Instead of watching Sleeping Beauty or whatever Disney Movie was out, I watched this! So much, in fact, that I ruined the vhs tape! But I recently got the DVD! Oh I love this movie! And Willow :D
I had always thought this movie was really bizarre and different from most mainstream animated films of its time.
The characters were really radical and strange and the animation was also quite different.
Reminded me of watching a really long 80s cartoon.
The music was pretty good for the film, and though weird the characters were quite interesting.
I always though that the smog creature, or forest demon (whatever he was) was really cool but as a kid I thought he was really scary too.
I loved the main female character of the film, Crysta I think her name was.
I thought it was interesting how she sacrificed herself to save the forest and the other fairies/pixies whatever and then was reborn as some type of goddess or something.
As a child I didn't quite understand it but it seems a really interesting place to go for a kids film when I see it now.
Although most kids films that are animated are filled with death in one way or another.
I really liked this film but I cant say much for the sequel.
Even though this is not really for my audience it is amazing and it is one of my favorite Robin Williams movies!
I can't help but use quotes from this movie from time to time. I loved it as a kid and now my kids love it.
You sure? Positive!
You know, only fools are positive.
You sure?
Positive!
I haven't seen this movie in forever. It was great flick, even if it did have tree hugger over theme.
I like this film. I nice little story that's kept short for the kids with lots of colour and sounds. I watched this as a kid and I still enjoy it now as an adult. Great fun.
Funny, love it, hey! I love all animated films, My husbands a big kid lol!
Lovely story great for kids to watch and I loved the music in it.
The animation is somewhat poor, but the movie carries an important message. Also, the cave scene is very well made.
aw dude this was the most coolest of the old-school stupid movies. nowadays they just have stupid shit like gay penguins that surf or sing or dance, but dude, they used to make COOL stupid movies about a dude who shrinks down and saves a rainforest full of fairies, with robin williams as the talking bat!
Wow, this movie was truly made by hippies! It's got a good enough message behind it, but the musical numbers are placed really randomly! Really, it's ridiculous!
haha
I saw this at someone's birthday part a few years back o.O
I was just like .. what are you ?
5 ?!
I used to love this movie as a child, it instilled such feelings of evil, looking at those red crosses on the trees and knowing man did it.
A great great movie.
