A Danish film about a muslim girl and a christian guy studying kung-fu with a little bit of a generation conflict thrown in. What could've been a unique approach to the "world against her" story actually leaves no cliche unturned in this martial arts version of Bend It Like Beck...( read more)ham. Melodramatic and contrived, it's a bit difficult to really feel anything for the characters since this story has been told a countless number of times. However, there's a really decent performance from lead actress Semra Turan and I look forward to seeing her in future films.

Some of the fight scenes are done rather well, while other fights seem to be concerned with complimenting a flashy soundtrack (and a bad one at that) and come off as silly. Although Turan makes fights scenes that much more engaging, the story could've benefited by being darker, moodier, and less extravagant given its' subject matter.

Had the potential of being a very good movie but ended up being a mediocre movie with intesting themes in it. A story of a Turkish girl living in Denmark, stuck in between her conservative family and her Danish friends, having passion for only one thing in the world: martial arts...( read more). Decent movie but could be much better if the director kept away from the cliches of the genre.

A slice of life movie with sprinkles of martial arts. Sadly, the realistic tournament-style fight scenes were diluted by unnecessary stylized direction and style. I think if the style of the fight scenes were as honest and straight forward as the drama of the movie, the whole pa...( read more)ckage would have gelled better.

I never thought i would see an action film from a country like Denmark. So, i was pleasently surprise by this very good film. A very well acted human drama, that portrays a turkish family living in this nordic nation, but with all their culture intact. The acting is top notch, specially by it´s charismathic and athletic protagonist. Just see it, i fully recommend it to anyone.

Wonderful movie for all fans of martial arts!

I would never say that a danish movie about Turkish girl could be this perfectly directed, technically on the level of high budget movies, without stupid special effects. But not just that.

Story is excellent and it's delightful ...( read more)to see a fighting movie where a main role went to girl!

An ok fighter movie which has a religious e undertone through out, which unlike many films of this type gives it its real "feel".Some nice action scenes, and moments of sadness.A real coming of age movie which is not like the others.
