Quite typical of this style of film, so not particularly original, yet it was easy watching and had some good little technical moments. Definitely a film worth watching, liked the mix of Harrison Ford and Paul Bettany in this.

This film rips off so much from other films, I feel like I?ve seen it before! Bettany and Ford are quite good in it though!

Very suspenseful with a good cast. Paul Bettany is good in everything he does, so that's not surprising.

This supposed to thrill? well, in this case, they didn't do a very good job, this was so stupid and boring that could put to seep even someone that suffers from insomnia. Harrison Ford needs some variety, always the hero...maybe that's why he seems so bored.
Paul Bettany was ...( read more)nice, the only good thing in it.

There are some movies out there that have a bad premise and a bad script but through the great talents of the director and the cast, they become a decent film. This film is the opposite. The script isn't bad, although like a lot of thrillers you can find a few plot holes in this ...( read more)one. The idea is exciting and marketable. Robbing a bank by framing an IT employee who can digitally cover your tracks. And in the technical regard, believe it or not, there is plenty of jargon and process to make the heist believable. But the acting is bad and, for the first time in a long time, I could discern, even from my narrow perspective as an aspiring screenwriter, that the direction was bad for this movie. The story begins, like a lot of bad thrillers do, with a hokey and cliched scene showing the star's cliched family. As a screenwriter, I can tell you that the scene, without a doubt, was added by the director to quote help the audience understand and empathize unquote. It then moves to Mr. Ford's place of business, the bank. And you know what? Movie's fine when it's at the bank. Then enters Paul Bettany, the very capable British villian, speaking the dialogue you'd expect from a prestige pic hopper. Except they've made him look like Opie. And they've given him three henchmen who all look like lead singers of popular bands. Again, not something the screenwriter does, but something the director does. The heist and chase progresses at standard quality, until you come to the climax, at which point characters have completely morphed and Harrison Ford has to vanquish his enemy, physically, in idiotic, unbelievable fashion. And then the movie ends before tying up loose ends laboriously derived in the plot, again the provenance of the director. So while you can blame a bit of the mediocre quality of the film on its actors (of whom Virginia Madsen is particularly atrocious), I place most of the blame on the director and virtually none on the writer. This film has a lot of good things going for it. Sadly, it was bungled.

We see a lot of movies like Firewall. This has the same concept, but has a very different script. We've got a badass villain played by the wonderful Paul Bettany and a very odd hero played by Harrison Ford. There's a lot of sloppy stuff here, but there are also a lot of goods.

Jack Stanfield (Harrison Ford) is a security expert of a bank, and his speciality is designing theft-proof financial computer systems. One night, he and his workmate Harry (Robert Forster) have a meeting with Bill Cox (Paul Bettany). After the meeting, Jack decides to head home. Once he enters his car, Cox also enters. He threatens him, pointing a gun to him, and tells him that if he didn't cooporate - his family would be killed. Jack drives home with Cox sitting in the back seat. His family were being held hostage by Cox and his men and what they wanted Jack to do was steal $100 million from the bank that he works for. He has his the lives of his family at stake, and even his own life could be in jeopardy. Now, Jack had to do everything Cox wanted him to do. An interesting plot this is. Jack Stanfield is a very annoying hero. Bill Cox is actually a really effective villain. I think the screenplay of the film is quite dull. The dialogue isn't very intelligent.

The acting wasn't so terrific. Paul bettany was the best actor here. He was great as Bill Cox. He played him really well. Harrison Ford was definitely the wrong choice for the role of Jack. His performance wasn't very good. A lot of the other actors were just annoying. The actors who played Jack's family were all terrible.

The main problem I had with the film was the last 30 minutes. The other parts of the film were really good. It was turning out to be a good thriller until they changed it into a Harrison Ford action flick. There's a finale that just carries on for too long. It's just Paul Bettany Harrison Ford punching each other for a very long time. It got really annoying. I also think that this film is soul-less.

This is a decnt thriller, but it could have been a great thriller. It had a good plot, but they cast some bad actors and turned into an action film at the very end. Paul Bettany I guess amkes this film enjoyable, coz he's really awesome as a villain. It's not terrible, but it's not great.
