My favorite anime movie of all time!!! This is the first anime movie that I ever watched and got me hooked me on the amazing world of japanese animation!! Hardcore martial arts gore and blood as Kenshiro mutilates and explodes heads and bodies of his opponents. Our hero has elements of Bruce Lee, Sylvester Stallone, Road Warrior and a spaghetti western rolled up into one!! This condensed version of the first season of the original japanese TV series is a must see. The terrible english dubbing reminds you of an old kung fu flick and adds a cheesy goodness that action fans love! ACTION PACKED GORY MARTIAL ARTS!! "IN FACT, YOU ARE ALREADY DEAD!!" AWESOME!!!
Worth watching if you would like to laugh. Though it unfortunately was not trying to make you laugh. Too many ridiculous encounters that simply set up a pointless fight. A plot that is always being sidetracked by other pointless plots. All of which lead to the inevitable triumph of the main character which was incredibly anti-climactic.
Based on the animated series of the same name. produced in Japan as a comic strip (manga) then an anime series that debuted in 1984. This attempts to summarize the events of the series. However, several important characters and events from the story are missing. The film goes further than the anime in terms of nsane violence and intense gore. Witness one of the most brutal and mature animations ever created. A tragic tale of human survival, dramatic and powerful. Kung Fu enthusiasts rejoice, for this is your anthem.
perhaps the most violent and blood soaked anime ever made...its just too bad i was stuck with the chessy fuckin english dubs..what a way to ruin yet another decent anime...ffs!
A nice condensed retelling of the events of the manga/anime - nice, dramatic and violent, with a great soundtrack to boot - 'Heart of Madness' and 'Purple Eyes' rate as a brilliant pair of fucking tunes! However for premium Fisting, see the series - YOU WA SHOCK!!!
this is a classic based on the manga this anime does fabulous work of showing the gory bits of fighting, you just can't help but join in with high pitch fight noises! -bruce lee watch out lol
An old movie based on one of my favorite manga series. Fist of the North Star/Hokuto no Ken is a great movie if you're into fighting movies, or old-school stuff in general.
People changing size between camera angles, heads exploding, body parts being rearranged ... Pretty stupid, but has it's share of awesome. Absolutely worth seeing.
Old style animation. Action packed. Violence, B&W death scenes. Totally cool. This is a post apocalyptic movie set in the Earth's future. The hero is trying to help life reestablish itself on earth. The planet has what appears to be some very strong mutated humans who crave power and clean territory. It is full of blood and guts. One of the first truly violent Japanese animation movies. There was a live action version of this movie made, please avoid the live action version of this movie. The animation is so much more powerful as a movie.
I can't stop loving this classic. The philosophical aspects are deep and the animation is beautiful. It looks better than Dragon Ball Z and it was made 20 years before DBZ.
From a popular graphic novel. Kenshiro is the sole heir of the deadly 2000 year old martial art , Hokuto Shinken. He is on a quest for vengeance after being betrayed by a former friend , Shin , who mutilates Ken's body and steals his girlfriend Julia. Bandits and rival martial artists await him in a post-apocalyptic wasteland.
Good anime that takes place in the future after nuclear holocaust. I love the story, but the colors get a little dull after a while since it is mostly desert.
brilliant film i wish the animation was a lot better than it is. underappreciated because of it. i think this film is a representation of the writers view of america at the time.
