A landmark film for Norway Pinchcliffe Grand Prix is a stop-motion animated film about an elderly mechanic Reodor Felgen who lives with a talking duck Solan Gundersen and a harry gloomy little creature name Ludvig. The narrative largely centers around Reodor's discovery that an old apprentice of his has stolen his blueprint for a new faster engine. The three decide to build their own and race in the Grand Prix to prove Reodor is the true inventor. The animation is over 30 years old and so it must be taken with a grain of salt. Even accounting for its age the film moves at an achingly slow pace. I don't mean it takes awhile for the plot to advance I mean it takes awhile for the characters to get the words out of their mouths, especially Ludvig. I don't really want to crap all over the most beloved film from another country but Grand Prix is probably not going to entertain too many people who do not have a strong childhood connection to it.
