Plot: In search for a captive pirate, an alien girl riding a Vespa uses a 12-year-old boy's head as a multidimensional channel.
One of the best animes I have EVER seen. So funny (and crazy). It's crazy because the english is better then the japanese for it. Absolutly brilliant! And, God, the soundtrack! The Pillows really know how to rock!
Totally awesome and kick ass, the animation is fantastic and way over the top, it's fast paced, and is just awesome, there's no other way to put it
It was decent. But it seriously made no sense. It made my head fall off. But great animation to an interesting point. I might have to watch this again, I don't know.
still need to finish it, watched the first 4 or five segments on TV but stopped and missed the finale parts.
This is one crazy anime, full of wacky characters and truly twisted plots. Littered with pop-culture references, as well as containing an abundance of animation styles and techniques, this anime never fails to entertain, and will easily make you laugh with it's daring wit.
Subbed, not dubbed.
Beneath its nonsensical and fleetingly-fanciful storyline, built on an overwhelming amount of metaphor, parody, and anime reference, is a stunningly heartfelt coming-of-age story.
Quirky and really funny - but probably not recommended for a first time anime viewer. Watch a few other classics to get acquainted with the genre first.
I'll ignore the obvious. This is what got me back into anime and just animation in general after going through a dry spell: robots popping out of a kid's skull, guitars, puberty, and a rockin' soundtrack by the Pillows! I love you Gainax.
It's 1995 and Gainax has blown everything out of proportion in anime with this major success called 'Neon Genesis Evangelion.' Then, 5 years later, Gainax parodies itself but going to preposterous extremes. 'Furi Kuri' is completely insane and over the top, but fantastic and beautiful at the same time.
