But with no evidence to support him, he must investigate Tommy's death himself. A trail of mysterious faxes puts Rafe in the path of Laura Clifford (Charisma Carpenter), a wealthy local businesswoman who turns out to have been carrying on an affair with Tommy. Soon Rafe, too, falls under Laura's spell, though he can't shake the suspicion that she knows more than she's letting on.
