Plot:
Disney couldn't resist the temptation to remake 1961's popular comedy The Absent Minded Professor, so they cast Robin Williams as Professor Philip Brainard (a role vaguely related to the charac...( read more

Professor Brainard delivers us the gooey yet cute experiment of the lifetime: "Flubber". Good film! :-)
It's funny that as you get older the movies you used to love with all your heart don't seem to hold the same magical power as they did when you were young. Which after seeing this again I had hoped to get that feeling, just to hold onto it for that night but it didn't come. I was devestated but kept trying to feel that feeling, get in the mood as if I were 6 again. I finally started watching it with a different view point. A younger one. And it worked! The magic came back! I can't believe how much of an effect movies can keep on you, even if you're young. 'Flubber' is definately a classic and is so inspiring in some odd sense of the word that I find I could so watch this again!
A satisfying goofy flick with the green goo stealing the show. A scene with pieces of "flubber" attached to basketball players' shoes is gotta be seen to be believed
i like this movie i remember i watched it once but i dont completely remember it all i can remmember is that its so nice!
Robin William's so funny in this. Loved the part at the end when the guy was shooting him with the squirt gun. Haha!
mindless family enterainment and very little more. some fun effects and relatively amusing bumbling slapstick, but the plot is just too shallow and farfetched to command believability. stock characters, but at least they hired good actors. funny, but pretty average.
Robin Williams is the perfect absent minded professor. If only flubber really existed - it would be so much fun!
The film is a modern day remake of the Disney classic "The Absent-Minded Professor". Phillip Brainard (Robin Williams) is an endearing, slightly befuddled professor at a small town college. The college is about to be closed due to lack of funding when Brainard finally finds the solution to the college's pecuniary needs. He's been working on this invention for a long time, knowing that he could market it and make enough money to save the school from closure. Having experimented with polymers for some time, Brainard creates a revolutionary, theoretical energy source and locks it in a tight cylinder as part of his experiment. Not knowing exactly what he was inventing, he carefully opens the cylinder to find a mass of elastic green goo inside. It seems to have mind and life of its own. He calls it "Flubber", and begins experimentation with its characteristics. With the help of his flying household robot Weebo, he soon discovers out that Flubber enables anything to bounce super high and move quickly. However, completely absorbed in the creation of Flubber, he has forgotten one very important thing: his own wedding. He has left his fiancée Dr. Sara Jean Reynolds (Marcia Gay Harden) president of the Medfield College he?s working at - waiting in front of the altar three times, and the woman to take this kind of rejection has yet to be born. Brainard tries everything to win Sara back, hoping Flubber will solve the problem for him. In fact, the elastic high-energy blob makes things even worse. Flubber is a whimsical comedy, full of fun, slapstick, and giggles. Robin Williams is perfect in the role of the ever-busy Professor living in his own little world, never even registering what's going on around him. He is serious and funny at the same time, and the way he interacts with the non-existent Flubber shows his experience in this field. Besides maintaining a general lack of ambition, there's not much to hate about Flubber. But then again, there's not much to like about it either.
OK total classic. Robin Williams is great in all of his movies and this was no different. A good movie to watch with the family.
Oy vey. I didn't even care for the original movie, but it was significantly better than this. The flubber is intelligent? This guy has created all sorts of amazing inventions, like a sentient robot, and yet his college is still struggling to make any money? This movie is just nonsense. The thin plot becomes even thinner, the jokes are bland, and what the HECK is up with the robot suffering from unrequited love? Were people just sitting around saying, "You know what would be completely idiotic and random if we put it in the movie? LET'S DO IT!" Sigh. Don't bother with this.
Flubber for the hole family...LOL....I know that was lame...oh well...anyway...it was a good movie at that...funny:)
robin willams. is a real funny person in this movie that disney has made. he ends up making the goop that being a little bit to cold. flubber will make you Laugh. this is one movie to add to your List!

I havent seen this one for awhile but from what I remember it was decently good, and worth watching. Most things with Robin Williams are. Im not sure about comparison to the orginal though - havent seen it.
Sorry...didn't do it for me. I missed the fun and whimsy of the old Disney classic with Fred MacMurray
About a man who after years working in a school and in his lab he discovers flubber and has to make sure it doesnt get into a dealers hands
I think you can predict that this movie is going to be awful simply because of the title. I mean, hellooooo, it's called FLUBBER, it can't be good.
