wow i have just seen this movie 4 the 1st time n think that this is a bloody good movie..this has got a good cast of actors/actressess throughout this movie..i think that kevin bacon is great throughout this movie..its a shame that chris penn has sadly died last year in 2007 of drugs overdose...i think that the director of this Romance, Drama, Musical & Performing Arts movie had done a good job of directing this movie because you never know what 2 expect throughout this movie n the director keeps you on the edge's of your seats throughout this movie..this has got a good director/cast n crew behind this movie because they all play good roles/parts throughout this movie
The premise is admittedly ridiculous, but it's executed remarkably well thanks to some genuine performances and an infectious pop soundtrack that is easily one of the best in recent movie history. Great work from John Lithgow and the entire supporting cast as well, and it's always amusing to see a young Sarah Jessica Parker in a cameo. Kevin Bacon offers a charismatic and incredibly sweet anti-hero. He was my mom's favourite actor -- now I know where I got my great taste from!
A great movie that really gets you up on your feet. I had no idea that at one time Kevin Bacon could really move like that, he was amazing!
Footloose is a 1984 film that tells the story of Ren McCormack (played by Kevin Bacon), a teenager who was raised in Chicago. McCormack moves to a small town where the town government has banned dancing and rock music. Ren and his classmates want to have a senior prom with music and dancing. They must figure out a way to get around the law and Reverend Shaw Moore (played by John Lithgow) who makes it his mission in life to keep the town free from dancing and rock music.
The movie was loosely based on events that took place in the tiny, rural farming community of Elmore City, Oklahoma. Much of the film was filmed in Utah County.
The Brat Pack can dance in this rocking 1984 fantasy dance movie, and it's kid friendly too. Every dance movie about moving on and coming of age has ripped off this flick, so see this instead. "Everybody cut loose, footlose!"
I love this movie!!! I watch it all the time.....i know every line in this movie&& i can watch it again and again
A wonderful soundtrack and a powerful performance from an all star cast highlight this outstanding movie about standing up for what you believe in against all odds. Fans of 80's movies and music as well as it's cast make this a must own!!!!!!!!!!
this movie has one freaky awesome soundtrack!Kevin Bacon is not only a great good-guy, but a wicked bad guy. He even manages to scare me...and i never scare at movies
i dont know its kind of stupid in that the power of dance can change these small town simpletons with his michael flatley moves
This is highly entertaining film that combines the rock beat exuberance of Flashdance and Risky Business with an entertaining - and even touching - story. I love it. And this is an exciting relflection of 1980s attitude and style, this lighthearted masterpiece set the standard for teen drama that still has an effect on our culture to this day - it's like memories after over 20 years.
This movie is great. The best part has to be when Bacon has his solo dance to the very emotional bad 80's song.
The coolest opening ever. First your foot begin to loose and the your feet, shoulder, head and finally your whole body.....COOL
I LOVE THIS MOVIE!!!!!! but it wasn't what I thought it would be and the ending was kinda stupid, but I LOVED the soundtrack!!!!!!!!
A feel good movie that became an 80's classic. Although it seem quite impossible to think that dancing may actually be prohibited and kid would actually not dance because of that, at the time we embraced the movie and cheered with Ken and the gang when they were able to dance again. The movie is fun, but the soundtrack is better.
The songs, the dancing, the characters, the acting... I loved it all! Kevin Bacon is very good looking in this film, and he is perfect for the lead role.
Offensive at parts, but that's the point. Many tender moments between husband and wife, mother and son, and the high school sweethearts. Really fun! It could do without so much vulgar language.
I watched it for the first time about a month ago .. crap acting, good storyline and fab music .. worth watching
I like that hat, they sell mens clothes where you got that..............
I thought only pansies wore neckties,....see there I thought only assholes used the word pansies...........
Awesome 80's goodness with Kevin Bacon, gotta love it! The music is great! And who knew Chris Penn could dance?

very big fan of the 80's so didnt missed this one for the world. just couldnt get over the fact that dancing was bannec from this town. how silly was that.
Dancing movies always get me, especially when there's a great plot behind the dancing like this one!
Vale pela cena de abertura e a cena final, que contam com a ótima música tema, no mais é superestimado.
