For Keeps is a good film with Molly Ringwald. What happens to a young couple when trying to get ready to graduate high school, attend college and now a new born...too much stress and a test of devotion...a cute film.
I usually like the movies that Molly Ringwald is in, but I did not like this one at all. I found this movie very boring and all the characters are annoying and the fact that everything was always peachy for the teens also was annoying. This is a movie that I will never watch again.
I really love this movie...so it is lighthearted but it expresses feelings first time parents go through. As with my unplanned pregnancy i felt too like I could rule the world like Darcy and was optimistic not knowing that children a rite of passage for some and a turning point that you can never go back only move forward. Growth is needed and self improvement/discovery with this huge sense of responsiblity, the notion that I am the be all say all of a little soul is the scariest idea in my life but the greatest priveledge. Granted outside forces intervene but ultimately your child is a gift that is a part of your physical self and chunk spiritual self. The realizations that one comes to when holding the little stranger for the first time, or the drive from the hospital or the moment that one finally feels comfortable with a child and not like a complete fool but the idea of being able to do this and not just to get it done but to raise a child with all your being and essence. This films seems to capture the importance of dreams and detours which we all face even the most organized of us all.
And most of the joys of partnership and parenthood
The couple deals with limited financial resources which most parents do, post pardem depression, and ultimately the choice to make it work as a couple. This was a film I enjoyed as a kid and later as an adult as well...
Good movie but might not want young children to see it. Although a good warning for teens to a point. Its funny and witty but all the way an 80's movie
this is very touching but predictable..and its sugarcoated plotline is very 80's but it worth watching and you will cry.
Really depressing! Shows how hard it is being young and having a baby! And how love can conquer everything! :)
Still a great movie after all these years. Life is tough sometimes but love can and will always pull you through.
Soooo depressing! My mom made me watch this so I wouldn't get knocked up in high school. And I guess it worked. . .but still. The acting was bad and the story was Lifetime Television for Women-y. But I guess there's a good lesson to be learned.
Molly Ringwald looks like that blue creature from the 5th element in this movie. I knon she was pregnant but did she have to look so bad? Randall was cute (Then) and the story was realistic honestly. I like the movie alot. I think it couldve been better in some areas but all in all it was decent.Flixster - Share Movies
This is a cute story. But not Molly's best work. Though I'm not sure what else they could do with it...
One of my favorite Molly Ringwald movies. Their young and in love newlyweds and now they are parents. Time to grow up!
This movie was great and all teenagers who think they are "in love" should be required to watch it. It's a reality check and a half.
I've seen this movie a few times over the years and it is heart-warming, though I don't think it's one of Molly's best. Still, it's a good movie and you should atleast rent it and see for yourselves.
Ringwald's most serious role, conveys a really strong message that all teenagers should probably know of, and shows that even if you get yourself in trouble, there are always people who are going to be there for you.
As I've said before, not a Ringwald fan. This movie sends a strong message, and is probably good for most teens/young adults to watch, but when I watched it way back when, I didn't like it; it was dull and predictable and was part of the period when adults were shoving the consequences of teen pregnancy down gen Xer's throats.
Should be one of the movies that a "Younger Audience" should watch when they think its cool to be pregnant or that it cant happen to them!!!
My favorite Molly Ringwald movie... I THINK!! Maybe it's for sentimental reasons of my own, I dunno. But it's a great movie at that!
awww it reminds me of early 90's and all the after school special back home and all the afternoon movies you'd watch :D so cute I heart her!
It's considered one of Molly Ringwald's worst movies, but I loved the storyline. And it's the movie that made me fall in love with her.
Molly Ringwald as you guessed it (a teenager). The catch this time is she gets pregnat. Actually not a bad film, just flat in places.
I HAVE IT AND ITS ABOUT A YOUNG LOVERS WHO HAVE A BABY AND THIS FOR ALL YOUNG GIRLS WHO WANTS A BABY AND PLEASE DO NOT DO IT AT ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i think this would be better if i watched it now. the last time i watched it i think i was in 5th grade. i think i'd understand a little more now...lol
