Ray is cast as a foolish young tourist who dares to venture into a "forbidden" Indian community. He has done this to acquaint himself with an exotic woman (Louise Glaum) whom he's glimpsed but fleetingly. The upshot of this is that both Ray and the woman are banished to the desert wastes, and thus are compelled to spend the rest of the film seeking an avenue of escape.
