Out of obligation--and unable to escape--they trudge to not one, not two, but four relative-choked festivities, increasingly mortified to find childhood fears raised, adolescent wounds reopened and their very future together uncertain. As Brad counts the hours to when he can get away from their parents, step-parents, siblings and an assortment of nieces and nephews, Kate is starting to hear the ticking of a different kind of clock. And by the end of the day, she is beginning to wonder if their crazy families' choices are not so crazy after all.

    Reese Witherspoon and Vince Vaughn fail in this romantic comedy. There are plenty of funny moments, but Witherspoon and Vaughn have all the chemistry and spark of a corpse and a goldfish. The idea is nice enough, but it may have worked better as a four episode miniseries. The fil...( read more)m relishes in embarrassing situations, yet most of them are just too far out for the audience to relate to. It has Christmas spirit, just not enough to really matter.

    This was pretty funny - I laughed until I cried a couple times, but the lovey dovey talk between the two of them was totally unbelievable and cheesy. It was a little short too.

    i heard terrible things about this and only a respected friend dragged me into the thing...and i liked it anyhow. damned reviewers with their superiority complexes and all, they piss me the hell off! especially laughed when vaughn gets his ass handed to him when he visits his f...( read more)amily. it's not "it's a wonderful life" but it's not total dreck either.
