  I've always found "The Final Chapter" to be one of the better Friday the 13th sequels. Of course, that might not be saying a whole lot. This film, at least, executes the formula quite well. There's a pretty impressive body count made up of irritating morons, who find themselves executed with maximum brutality. It was a nice touch adding a protagonist, in the form of Tommy Jarvis. The showdown between the two, that results in Jason's "death", is especially tasty. Jason was far from a polished product at this point, but they were getting better. It's just stupid watching the old version of the character run, it looks ridiculous. All in all, if you want to watch Friday the 13th, this one's not bad.

  The story continues with Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter, which as the title proclaims, was to be the last entry in the series (as was Part 3). However, it made a ton of money and that idea was laid to rest. What's interesting, first of all, is that If you break down the timeline of the films, you realize that films 2 through 4 take place over the course of about a week in different locations in and around Camp Crystal Lake. Insane, really. Do these people not watch the news or listen to the radio? Surely they must have heard about what's going on by now. Mass murder is usually big news, you know. Nevertheless, it's the typical fare for the series up to this point. New director Joseph Zito takes over the reins from Steve Miner with Tom Savini returning to finish off Jason... or so they thought. This time around, the effects are superb, but like the previous film, with lackluster story and no real visual direction. It does have those cliche'd visual horror movie moments, but nothing that distinguishable. This is also the last of the all around 'classic' Friday the 13th films before Jason was reinvented and reimagined in later sequels. After this film, Jason was no longer human and had superhuman strength, only making the death sequences in later films more intense and violent. This film, however, was due to be his final send-off. He really dies this time, and there's no playing with the audience that he might not be dead. He wouldn't be killed off again until 5 sequels later, only to be resurrected, yet again, but I'm getting off topic here. Overall, this movie is a solid entry in the series, but for me, it's missing what made Part 2 work so well: character development and visual style. It's not a bad entry, just a lackluster one. It's a shame because most fans hold this entry up as the best of the series, which I disagree with. It's good, but there isn't enough here to keep me as interested as before.

  A robust body count, Crispin Glover's sheer ridiculousness, and a neat final kill (though sadly buoyed by a ridiculous plot point) bring a little bit of much-needed life to this otherwise average slasher. It doesn't lack for energy, I'll say as much as that, but there's not all that much going on underneath the surface - Friday the 13th has always been the most shallow of the big horror franchises of the era, and this film makes no attempts at reparation. Disposable, unpretentious, good-natured popcorn entertainment and little else.

  Just another of the less than average slasher movie sequels to Friday the 13th. He just goes on and on killing people, and that's it. Don't see it unless you're a big fan of the series.

  A huge improvement over part 3D, this has a lot bigger scope and the story is a lot more interesting. While it does have its corny moments, it's definitely as believable as the first two movies. An early Crispin Glover performance is kind've shocking, mainly because he's so normal. Also Corey Feldman's movie debut, what a way to enter feature films. While this doesn't actually show Jason all that much, he causes some massive destruction and goes out with a bang. The banana girl is perhaps one of the greatest special treats, it always makes me laugh.

  The Final Chapter is one of my favorite in the series. Much gorier than it's predecessors and just flat out fun. Tom Savini did an outstanding job on the makeup. Part 4 is also the funniest in the series. Awesome one-liners. Crispin Glover's character is hilarious (I love when he dances). It's priceless. Jason Voorhees's demise is still a shocker. The machete through the head scene was bloody disgusting. Great film! My third favorite in the series.

  Like all horror Icons, there's always one particular character that the killer will take revenge above all else. this time however, Jason sets his eye on Tommy Jarvis . After being killed in the third instalment, he's seemingly lifeless body is sent to the local morgue, where he awakens and kills two employees and returns to the lake. His new intended targets are the Jarvis's and bunch of kids that moved in next door for the summer. For me, The Final Chapter is one of the Friday films with some of the best kills. The film possesses key ingredients that is required for a Friday The 13th film to work effectively well. Dim witted oversexed teens, a dark and creepy atmosphere, an unsung hero that kills Jason. The hero of this film is Tommy Jarvis, played rather annoyingly by Corey Feldman. I couldn't stand the kid, it seemed that he suffered of ADHD or some other condition. Either way, he was frustrating. Back to the film itself, The Final Chapter as the following sequels is obviously not the final film in the series. The movie is quite enjoyable, and is fun to watch, like every other Friday film out there for that matter. With this film, Jason began the tradition of trying to seek revenge on Tommy. Still a strong film in the series.

  Stupid ending and bad acting, its much like the first three films, at least Savini is back!. You either love it or hate it really. Corey Feldman & Crispin Glover were good though, it?s worth watching for Glover's dance alone!

  I know a lot of people that say that "Friday the 13th - The Final Chapter" is their favorite movie of the series. I wouldn't say that it's my favorite, but it's definitely in the top 3. Jason Voorhees is taken to a hospital and everybody thinks he's dead, but they're wrong. He terrorizes some new teens who are living wild and free at nearby Camp Crystal Lake. "Friday the 13th - The Final Chapter" had some great special effects and it has the same great action and death scenes that all the movies in the series had. The teens in this movie seem more like real teens than they did in the previous three movies. There's more nudity in this movie than in any of the others in the series also. If you like watching Jason do his killing sprees, then I recommend getting "Friday the 13th - The Final Chapter." But beware, it's not really the final chapter like the name suggests. NOTE: That was my Amazon review from the year 2000. I've seen this one more than any of the others in the series, I believe. It's a good movie ("dead fuck"), but more notable for its nudity.

  Not the final chapter at all but a decent 4th outing for the franchise. Jason is back and certainly the Jason that is well known today. This entry sees two great performances from cult favourites Crispin Glover and Corey Feldman. Glover shows off some wicked dance movements and Feldman is very believable in a very stupid film. The stupidity becomes hilarious with some things happening for no reason, such as a dog jumping out of a window. Some things are just left unresolved, such as the fate of the mother. While some things just baffle the mind, with the main character deciding to stay in the house with the killer and smash her way out of a window, rather than step over the body on the doorstep. Killings and gore galore courtesy of Tom Savini and we almost get a chance to know these characters. Like part 3 the constant "fake out" jump scenes just start to piss you off.

Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter is far from the final chapter and actually ends the run of good Friday the 13th films (with the exception of 6). This is an end to an era right here as Jason goes from being a pissed off retard in the woods to zombie on steroids.

  This is one of my favorites sequels to Friday the 13th. There was quite a few parts that was not surprising to me. I liked the part where the two guys hook up with one of the twins, and the kids who was the special effects whiz really take charge of things when Jason made the kill. Especially when he orphaned the siblings. Jason's bloody reign of terror was not all that surprising. He killed with many methods: Hacksaw Toss out the window Shadow stab Cranial Compression Eviseration Etc. You name it, he'll do it. The one undisturbed scene is when one of the girlfriends was changing clothes and the sensual matter was really played out well. That's the one scene that will be never forgotten. The movie was great though there was a little humor to it. It is indeed one of my favorites of the sequel.

  One of the better Friday the 13th sequels in which we see Jason Voorhees at his most brutalist. Gore effects legend Tom Savini returns to produce the red stuff and comes up with some creative make-up effects to shock the audience. Gratuitous nudity galore also features from the hot looking chicks making sure those eye's never wander too far from the screen. There's also a few funny moments courtesy of Crispin Glover (George McFly in Back to the Future) as the sex starved geek loser. And a creepy, memorable ending featuring a young Cory Feldman in his pre-Goonie adventure. All this makes "Friday the 13th - The Final Chapter" a strong contender for the best sequel in this repetitive, yet entertaining slasher saga.

  Such hype in High School. We waited and speculated how Jason would finally die. I went to the Drive-In and sat in the back seat, only 15 years old, hoping they wouldn't ask for my ID... they didn't! Great gore effects from maestro Tom Savini. A nice collection of killings, my favorites were the girl thrown out the top floor window in slow motion onto the car below and Jason's wonderful death. Some deaths were shown indarkness or offscreen, so almost don't count; but Friday the 13th movies always do that. I wasn't too fond of the setting this time around, with the two houses across from each other deep in the woods. Crispin Glover was in this one and got killed with two weapons at once. At the time, it seemed so short; Jason was dead before we knew it, and we thought; too bad there wouldn't be any more Jason movies... Before anybody says the title was incorrect, this really was the final one for "Human Jason" - the following sequels were a new set of stories with Zombie Jason. Bah! Just kidding you. They wanted to stop making them, but they were raking in too much money.
