This made up the 5th season of futurama. Fox canceled it early in it's 5th season and this filled it out.
  • November 4, 2009
Not quite as sharp as the TV series but still plenty of wisecracks.

Sorry, but i'm kind of new to Futurama. I've seen a few episodes, but it never drew my attention as easily as The Simpsons. But this makes me want to check out the series and other movies, as it satisfied the smug nerd that occasionally whimpers from within my Adonis-like jock's ...( read more)body. Lot's of in-jokes for people actually into science and philosophy, and the characters are great. Maybe i'm reviewing my impressions of Futurama in general here, rather than this particular movie, as i guess it's just a kind of extended episode. Funny though.

Doesn't live up to the tradition of Matt Groening. A bit tired, all around.
  • September 29, 2009
    Stick with the TV shows.

Gli alieni nudi sono un po' fastidiosi come personaggi, ma alla fine restanos econdari..

Not bad, but they recycled the story a little from the video game.

"Bite my shiny, metal ass and get the move on, people."

Updated - Finally got around to watching this and I am torn. I love Futurama, but this was not what I was hoping for. It could have been great, but someone somewhere dropped the ball and made this as an almost halfassed f...( read more)arewell to the series, though we are getting at least two more films.

    Futurama Is AWESOME!!!!!!
  • March 25, 2009
Re-establishes the characters and the storyline from the original series. Has a good storyline itself. The thought of a naked planet... All the talents from the original series are back for this straight-to-DVD cartoon. "Bender's Back, baby!"
  • March 21, 2009
Loved the old Mickey Mouse style opener. WHy didn't Nibbler just nibble?
  • March 2, 2009
Good movie but as Robert said it wasn't all that great. Sure the animation was stunning and had a good storyline overall but I was expecting some big laughs and it simply didn't happen - a couple of chuckles but no 'LOL' moments, I think I even laughed more in the Simpsons movie ...( read more)than this.

However it's by no means all bad, there's some great lines within the first 2 minutes relating to 'Box Networks' (or Fox) and it retains the structure that the Simpsons movie didn't have (like a plausible storyline). Just don't expect too much replay value

Very funny...loved all the jabs and sci-fi cliches...

Animated primetime TV gets its spin-offs as full-length feature films. "The Simpsons" already has one, and "Futurama", too? "Bender's Big Score" shows it all: Planet Express - and then the whole world - is taken over by naked alien thieves bent on stealing personal information fr...( read more)om the express crew. It's an example of identity theft here. A tattoo on Fry's butt that leads to a time-traveling portal is the most absurd thing I found in a sci-fi film... I understood "The Terminator" references that Bender did when he was time traveling, and that's so hilarious.
  • January 7, 2009
Hypnotoad in the special features, guys!
  • January 7, 2009
It was certainly great to see Futurama again, but I wouldn't put this in the "best of" pile. It had its hilariously quotable moments, but too often it got dull or even a little sappy. I think it all comes down to the fact the writers took what would usually be a 20-something min...( read more)ute episode and stretched it to an hour and a half. The writers are new at feature length stuff, so I have high hopes it only gets better from here.

    LOVE THIS SHOW BENDER ROCKS
  • December 27, 2008
A great return of the series in straight to DVD video form, with many references to to the original show. An e-mail scam causes Earth to be lost to aliens and Bender goes back in time to steal valuable artifacts while under their control.

    Recommended.

I was so excited when I found out that there were Futurama feature films after it got cancelled. Then I watched this, and personally I didn't think it was as consistently good as the series. But hey, three more of the films yet to watch, they may be better.
  • December 21, 2008
The best of the Futurama movies, it would seem. Not only does it pay incredible attention to detail and miraculously weave itself through the series' canon, it also manages to produce the most genuine emotion and the funniest jokes.
  • December 20, 2008
Its great to see Futurama alive and well! The characters are still the same as well as the clever writing. Hell, the time travel plot MAKES SENSE!
  • December 6, 2008
"Good news, everyone! Those asinine morons who cancelled us were themselves fired for incompetence. And not just fired, but beaten up, too?and pretty badly. In fact, most of them died from their injuries. And then they were ground up into a fine pink powder."
  • December 6, 2008
still the best cartoon out there.
  • December 5, 2008
this is a really funny/stopid movie!

this movie was so funny i could watch it everyday bender is my fav i love the show futurama its my fav show and in case you have not seen this movie(you should) its about At their first delivery to the Nude Beach Planet, Fry is surprised to learn that he has a tattoo of Bender on...( read more) his buttocks. Meanwhile, Bender, Amy and Leela sign seemingly innocuous petitions for three alien nudists. In the process they give them their email addresses, eventually swamping everyone at Planet Express with spam. The Professor is caught unawares by a lottery scam and soon discovers that the aliens have taken control of Planet Express. Bender is also infected by an obedience virus planted by the aliens, and does their bidding.

The aliens, who have the ability to sniff out information, discover Fry's tattoo and realize it contains a binary password that allows them to conjure up a sphere that allows them to travel back in time. Although Nibbler and the Nibblonians try to stop them, as any use of the sphere could tear apart the fabric of space, they are quickly defeated and the aliens use Bender to go back in time to steal the treasures of the past. They also discover that while temporal doubles are created when two or more of the same person exist in the same time, the double is ultimately doomed to prevent a potential paradox from occurring.

As the aliens continue to steal from the past and scam the rest of Earth, Leela and Lars' relationship builds and eventually he proposes marriage. Heartbroken, Fry discovers that, after having stolen all the world's treasures, the aliens want to kill him to destroy the tattoo, so he goes back to the year 2000 to both escape them and his memories of Leela. However Bender is sent back to kill him.

In a series of events, Fry returns to the 31st century by freezing himself while his temporal double, created after another time travel trip, stays on in the 21st century. The double ends up befriending a Narwhal and becomes a marine biologist, but is apparently killed by Bender when his apartment explodes in 2012. Meanwhile the original Fry gets rid of the tattoo and plans to disrupt Leela's wedding to Lars. Although his plan does not work, Lars ends up canceling the wedding anyway after witnessing Hermes' new body (whom he had stolen from his own temporal double) mangling itself again.

Amy Wong: Ahh, don't blame yourself, Bender.
Bender: I don't blame myself. I blame all of you!
Amy Wong: Us? How could you possibly blame us?
Bender: It ain't easy. It just proves how great I am.

Bender: [Bender falls out of sky, get's up, looks around] Awww, I lost him, people will call me a failure.
Bender: [notices Fry in the upstairs window of Panucci's Pizza] Others however will call me the World's Sexiest Killing Machine, that's fun at parties.

Professor Farnsworth: Time travel is impossible!
Fry: But Professor, you time traveled yourself. Remember? When we went back to Roswell?
Professor Farnsworth: That proves nothing! And furthermore, you'd think I could remember a thing like that! Plus, who are you anyway?

[Bender's time paradox duplicate prepares to terminate Fry]
    Bender: Hasta la vista, meatbag!

Bender: I don't tell you how to tell me what to do, so don't tell me how to do what you tell me to do.
