Extremely boring. Takes the worst part of the Earthsea saga and adds some clichés and a pre-90s visual style.
It might not be the best offering from Studio Ghibli but Miyazaki's son Goro does well enough in his 1st feature. I enjoyed the story of the young prince going on a journey of self discovery and battling a dark wizard. The animation as per usual from Ghibli is top class.
A pretty good movie, maybe not up to the standards of previous Studio Ghibli classics but a great attempt none the less.

They could have stretched this out over a few movies and actually stuck to the plot, but instead they made up a few things that were completely out of character and blurted out secrets that took whole books to expose. If you haven't read the books it'll make very little sense and...( read more)
