The German industrial firm ThyssenKrupp Acciai Speciali Terni operated a steel mill in Turin, Italy and in the mid-2007, the company decided to close the plant. A number of repairs were needed at the Turin mill to conform to Italian safety regulations, but since the factory was only going to be open for a few more months, ThyssenKrupp felt it wasn't cost effective to invest more money in the plant.
