It's such a great change to see a fairly manly romantic comedy. It centers around men, real men. Not those fantasy creations in most chick flicks, where they are either damn perfect or seedy and villainous. They have their realistic character defects and personal problems, but due to some excellent performances and thoughtful writing they are wonderfully likable. The animation is similar to that of Waking Life and A Scanner Darkly, though it doesn't add THAT much to the story, ir is nice to look at and opens the door for some hilarious fantasy sequences. The English sing-along in the police box almost brings tears because of it's absurdity and excellent timing. There should be more films like this, ones that really can appeal to both sexes. Life is Cool certainly is cool and is feel good without being schmaltzy.
