Funnily enough, I've seen the original screenplay for this film. It really sucks. However, the movie, thanks to the improvised dialog, does not. This is how you let good actors take a horrible script and make it awesome.
Hugely successful not only because this was a good story but it was also well cast and had some good computer effects when computer effects were something very new and interesting. Plus who wouldn't want to see Weaver crawling toward them draped in a sexy cloth and focused on just one act?!!
Just a funny movie & don't look for anything else in this movie but that. Kinda ridiculous at times its true, but i think that just makes it more funny.
There are such funny movies that are a great fun to watch(Star Wars,Indy,Back to the Future)but how can we forget our favorite paranormal creature hunters known as the Ghostbusters.I loved Ghostbusters when i was a kid and i loved the cartoons.When i bought the movie and watched it,now i know how fun and entertaining this classic is.Dude,if you like ghosts and you want to spend a great time,who you gonna call?GHOSTBUSTERS!!!!
Ghostbusters will always be remembered as being the first movie I watched twice. I love the story and really feel that the cast did a great job. The story is still fresh today and can be watched over and over, with new stuff to enjoy every time.
Ivan Reitman's awesome spook-tacle with Bill Murray, Sigorney Weaver, Rick Moranis and an all-star cast, makes for one of the funniest movies about New York's spooky ghosts ever, and maybe one of the funniest movies ever. Deposed scientists from a university get a zany plan to buy an old firehouse and become the Ghostbusters, (loosely based on Ghost Chasers of the 1950s), crime-stopping paranomarl dudes with nucealr proton packs! Superhero time! Every kid in America was quoting this flick forever! "He slimed me." This was just awesome.

I actually didn't like Ghostbusters as much as most people do. I think it could've been done a lot better with a lot more realisticness. It still had its moments, but it was nothing spectacular.
