This movie take place in WWII England. It's about a bitter old man who is forced to take in a child refugee and learns to love again. It is very sad in parts but the end is redeeming.

I watched this film about a year ago it was about them moving people from London and all the big citys to the country side and I enjoyed it and thought it was a very good film and it was quite funny too.
Well I did like this movie although I think that some things could have been better. The child actor wasn't so good, and also I would have liked to see more of Mister Toms life before the boy was forced on him or of the mother of the boy, well besides being sick, brutal and gener...( read more)
This is a heart warming and emotional film with brilliant performances and a well writen script. It has me in tears everytime i watch it!
i love this movie the book is gr8 and well knwn and the adaptation isnt a disappoointament gr8 performances!
