Reviewers found that Gossekind is so earnestly heavy-handed that they were convinced that it was made to settle some personal agenda for the director or other filmmakers. The story begins as Axel, a boy prostitute who has suffered various kinds of abuse at home, encounters much the same thing out on the street with the married men who are his tricks.
