A man carries out his best friend's last rites by taking his body to Joshua Tree National Park. This film is about that journey. A true story that was watchable but not a must see by any means.

Grand Theft Parsons is based on a great touching and sometimes bizarre story of one mans quest to uphold a promnise he made to a dead friend. Despite many peoples view i think the casting is great, Johnny Knoxville shows he can actually and that he has long term asperations beyond Jackass. Michael Shannon adds a majority of the funny scenes and Robert Forster, Marley Shelton and Christina Applegate offer good small supporting roles also.
YEAH DUDE...A FUCKING GREAT MOVIE WITH JOHNNY KNOXVILLE...GOD HIS ROLE IS SO FUCKING GOOD AND DAMMIT THIS IS A GOOD STORY....DUDE GO SEE THAT THING ONE OF THE BEST MOVIE I EVER SAW!
Slight but charming 'based on a true story but with a few made up bits'. Knoxville's Phil Kaufman is on a quest to take his friend Gram Parsons' dead body out to Joshua Tree National Park and set fire to it, freeing his soul, according to a pact they'd made to each other. He's helped and hindered along the way by his girlfriend, Parsons' ex-girlfriend and a hippy with a yellow hearse with a flower-power paintjob. There's a couple of amusing run-ins with the law and a rather touching meeting with Gram's father.
This is a really great sleeper of a film, Knoxville stars as Phil Kaufman, Friend and Road-Manager of Grahm Parsons, and when Grahm dies he steals his body to bury him in the dessert the way they had promised each other.
You won't believe it, but this is a true story. This is about the death of country rock legend Gram Parsons. You won't believe it, but it all happened.
