Get ready to watch this show case spectacular as you watch well known stars hit the dance floor for this great adictution of the film Hairspray. Newcomer Niki Blonsky (Tracey Turnblad) plays a specatcular overweight girl who dreams of being famous and her face being on her favourite show. However, this innocent looking teen must face: crushes, school bully, predjudice, & herself before becoming a "big time" star! With co-stars such as Zac Efron (High School Musical 1 & 2) & John Travolta (Grease) it is no wonder that this film was a box office success. I can guarantee you will be dancing by the end of the film.
i like this movie its awesome and hae a lot off comedie! i like that in a movie! i think that zac efrom is handsome! hahaha well its good this movie! you should realyy see it
Brilliant cast. Cheesy story about a girl Tracy who wants to dance on her favourite TV show. It has serious moments when it touchs on the social divisions between races in the 1960s. It takes a while to get used to John Travolta in character. Link is pretty handsome and Corny is cute. Great songs.
its just a great movie just makes you happy every time you watch it, catchy tunes awesome crazy dance moves from a fatty come on and plus a dragged up Johnny how can you not like this movie!
Overall the film was a good "Movie Musical" BUT Why did Travolta NEED to be a WOMEN. He murder his voice in every song he sang. On the other hand the rest of the Cast was excellent. Queen Latifath part saved the film, from her power voice to her strong message of equality.
OMG Zac Efron was so hot in this move his beautiful baby blue eyes. and when Penny's mum ties her up and carrys on saying devils child, devils child, devil child. and when Penny and Seaweed get together in the end but seaweed is cute to.
I can hardly remember the first Hairspray movie that I watched (On TV --- dont know how many versions there are of this and I cant be bothered to look it up). Anyway, found it cute, Travolta was a bit distracting, its like.. He really just wanted to be in it?
Umm let's see.. Probably my 2nd favortie musical! What a great movie that just warms up the heart and makes you want to burst out in song and dance to a beat.
Adam Shankman did an amazing job with the direction of location, the choreography, and the characters. The acting was superb (mostly by our unknowns!).
Zach Efron was very charming as the smooth, handsome Link Larkin.
Amanda Bynes was cute and clueless as the unruly best friend, Penny.
Elijah Kelley had such a great voice! I melted when I heard him sing and he was also a very charming love interest.
James Marsden and was a great singing/dancing Corny Collins. He was probably my favorite character.
Christopher Walken was a very paternal figure and worked well with John Travolta as his loving wife, Edna Turnblad. John did a very convincing character change into his womenly figure.
And lastly, the new kid on the block, Nikki Blonsky as Tracey Turnblad. She was amazing and had a voice like no other!
The dance sequences were amazing and beautifuly shot and choreographed. Well done!
What a fun musical! I absolutely loved it. Everything about it was great, the songs, clothes and the 60's setting. Loved John Travolta as Edna, he was pure joy!
I love musicals! And this one is so funny and yet very serious.. I love the storyline and all of the actors.. and I must say that it was extra enjoyable to see Mr. Travolta dressed up as a one.. which he surprisingly did very well!
good movie until zac's character ends up with the wrong chic. he deserves to end up with the hottie in the end. not the un-hottie. just doesn't sit right with me.
