Returning from a food run, kindly kindergarten teacher Kenny (Harland Williams) makes the mistake of feeding a massive amount of junk food to a tired-looking, diabetic NYPD horse, which drops dead. Tossed in jail, Kenny relies on his totally stoned roommates (Dave Chappelle, Guillermo Diaz, Jim Breuer) to devise a way to raise the 100,000-dollar bail. Their solution? Sell marijuana stolen from a government research lab. Cameos in this comedy include Stephen Wright, Janeane Garofalo, Stephen Baldwin, Snoop Doggy Dogg, Willie Nelson, and Jon Stewart. ~ Bhob Stewart, Rovi

Critic Reviews from Rotten Tomatoes

"Riotous, even to the sober."
‑ Phil Villarreal, Arizona Daily Star
"Winningly stupid comedy, with the emphasis on stupid."
‑ Jake Euker, F5 (Wichita, KS)
"Half-Baked wants to be a classic moronic movie, but it's just too stupid to achieve that goal."
‑ David Nusair, Reel Film Reviews
"So funny! "But I'm Cuban, B." "YES, Cuban B!""
‑ Michael A. Smith, Nolan's Pop Culture Review
"seems half-produced, with a grainy, unattractive look and bargain-basement special-effects that ruin some good ideas. Perhaps the filmmakers blew their budget on the slew of guest stars who pop up briefly..."
‑ James Sanford, Kalamazoo Gazette
"The film, in spite of any plot, is one sketch after another, some of which fall flat, some of which fall flatter."
‑ David Luty, Film Journal International
"As far as pot comedies go, it's got just enough laughs to warrant a visit."
‑ Scott Weinberg, DVD Clinic
"The definitive stoner's anthem film. Chapelle is hilarious and charismatic. Great celebrity cameos help keep the uneven script afloat. (Best served fully baked)."
‑ Brian Mckay, eFilmCritic.com
"The filmmakers forgot to come up with more than one joke, and the one that they do have isn't very funny."
‑ Michael Dequina, TheMovieReport.com
