  The problem with the Halloween series that I have is that they tried to make things more important than they really were. When they started trying to come up with an explanation of what Michael Myers is it fails on all levels and makes things less intriguing. What makes the character interesting is its simplicity and not the complexity, and that's ultimately what happened with the series in general. Halloween 6: The Curse of Michael Myers continues on with the "Curse of Thorn" backstory mechanic that's just as ineffective as making Jamie Lee Curtis Michael Myers' sister in Halloween II. The film does have a little bit to it as a horror film I guess, but overall it's just a tired entry in a series that has long overstayed its welcome.

  Halloween: The Curse of The Curse of Michael Myers is in my book, the third worst film of the Halloween franchise. At times the film doesn't even make sense, and it's all over the place. The result is a mess. However, for some reason, I did find this one to be decent enough to watch. However, the film does lack the power the power of previous Halloween films. Many Halloween and Horror fans have said that the producer's cut of the film is better because it feature the cut scenes integrated in that cut of the film. I have yet to see that cut of the film, but for this version, it lacked the style and power and minimal suspense. But it is better than the third installment. Some of the performances here are questionable. What's very interesting about this film is the casting of Paul Rudd, who would later go on to star in popular comedy films. The film as a whole has a very dark atmosphere, almost too dark. You can't even see what's going on, on-screen. The kills are obscured, and you're left in trying to figure out what is going on on-screen. But if you can make out what's happening, then you can kind of enjoy this film. I have yet to check out the producers cut of this film, and by what I hear it is the definitive version of this picture. The Curse of Michael Myers is a decent film, but is also a mess of a film. The film has potential, but is never really fulfilled due in part to this films checkered history. Halloween fans know what I'm talking about.

Halloween 6: The Curse of Michael Myers is the first completely unwatchable film in the series. I still dislike number 3 more, but not by a whole lot. It's just a generic slasher that is holding on to the greatness of the first one, while trying to squeeze every dollar possible out of a dead series. I've heard good things about H2O, so it should be interesting watching that one after two really bad Halloween's in a row. There are a couple points of interest in this one though. One is the Paul Rudd getting his start, as many actors do, in a slasher. He's horrible in this movie, but it was still interesting seeing him get his start. The other point of interest the horribly done father bitch slaps daughter scene. It was so bad that it had me laughing. There's not much else to say about this. It's bad; it's really bad.

  The Curse of Michael Myers is the most violent one of the series (other than the Rob Zombie remakes). They even have an Unrated version floating around for sale on the net. I tie this one with Halloween II, as both being my fourth favorite in the series. I also tie this with part The Return of Michael Myers as being the second most atmospheric entry in the series. A lot of people hated this film, even Paul Rudd (who plays Tommy Doyle) hated this film, and I can't understand why. I loved it. It had some great humor, bloody kills, and tons of dark moody atmosphere. It was a big comeback from it's silly predecessor. Paul Rudd steals the show, as far as characters go. His facial expressions are priceless. The part with the fire extinguisher is hilarious. Watch Paul Rudd's reaction when he sees Michael Myers in that scene. It's fu*king hilarious. It's like something I would do when I'm scared out of my mind. Also the part when the camera zooms in on Paul Rudd's face when he turns his head after hearing Jamie Lloyd (not played by Danielle Harris) screaming on the radio. It's a classic moment (brief, but classic). Paul Rudd is the man! I thought he was the man immediately when I first saw him in Clueless (1995). Every damn role he chooses is great and he's funny as hell. I love Michael Myers mask in this one. It has like a bluish tint to it, and the hair's more wild. It look cool, and creepy. It's one of his best masks in the series (part 1 being the best of course). I'd tie this with The Return of Michael Myers with having the third best mask in the series. Halloween 6: The Curse of Michael Myers is a fun, and bloody good time. It brings back the traditional feel of the series. It stands out in the franchise as being one of the better ones. This film is awesome. This was Donald Pleasance's final film. He died during reshoots.   Well, at least this one provided an explanation concerning the two films that preceeded it. It may be a ridiculous explanation, but it at least shows a little creativity and ambition. Aside from that, I really have nothing good to say about this movie. It's good to see Donald Pleasence, but it's a damn shame this was the final film of his career. It sucks even more that this piece of shit was dedicated ot his memory. Paul Rudd is in this, and, even though I hate the Thorn storyline, I found the twist concerning the character he plays a tolerable bit of fan service. Attempts are made at creating a creepy and unsettling atmosphere, and even though the film isn't really scary, it at least tried, albeit barely. What the film lacks in scares and subtelty, it makes up for with ridiculous violence and bloodshed. The ambitiusness of things could have redeemed this movie had things been executed far better. The script sucks, the writing sucks, the direction is blah, the acting is what you should expect from a sub-par slasher, the storyline is nuts and incoherent (I hear the 'producer's cut' is better but I don't care enough to wanna see it), and Michael is laughably hefty. The mask is okay looking though. Jesus, I can't believe I've spent more words talking about this than it deserves. Just do yourself a favor and avoid it.

I have no respect for any person involved in this movie (Except fopr Donald) I thought Halloween II sucked but this fucking takes the cake. How is it even possible to make a movie worse than Halloween II? In my eyes...this never happened. Michael deserves better than this. And I just wanna say to Danielle Harris...Thanks for not doing this movie cause this is just the epitome of shit. If I'm ever gonna burn a DVD...this might just be the one...

  Such a shame this was Donald Pleasence's last film. Started off bad then good really bad towards the end. A real missed opportunity, very amateurish. Oh, and don't get me started on the editing....

  I am not quite sure what to say/think about this movie. It is definitely not the worst in the series. The style is just very different and it focuses on other elements than its predecessor did. It tries to explain why Michael Myers starts butchering around Halloween. Well, all that stuff about Michael Myers being cursed and the evil cult was a rather nice effort, but I feel it wasn't set up well enough to be effective. The movie contains lots of gore. Actually it's plain carnage. If you haven't seen the other Halloween films you will probably like this one for its blood content. But for a real Halloween freak this sequel might be just too different to be seen as a good one. Suspense was turned into terror and carnage (exploding heads..., you get the point). All Halloween fans know that this film has 2 versions. The Producers and Theatrical cut. The theatrical cut is very choppy and doesn't really make any sense at all and the ending (theatrical cut) is simply awful. Michael gets stabbed with a needle, then beaten up with a pipe, then stabbed again, this time with more needles, then beaten up a little more until there's slime running out of his head (where did this green stuff come from anyway?). While the producers cut isn't perfect its alot better than the theatrical version. I suggest Halloween fans seek this version out There was some good things about both versions though, Marianne Hagan is a wonderful actress and turns in a excellent performance, Paul Rudd is great as well and gives one of the best performances in the whole series. Donald Pleasance returns as Dr Loomis and while he doesn't have as much to do in this film.he give his usual soild performance. The atmosphere in this film was good as well. I think this was actually the 1st and only Halloween film shot in the winter and that little bit seems to help the overall feel of the movie. To sum up, I can't say I love this movie but it does have it fans and some good moments. Hopefully we will see a release of the producers cut one day. Dedicated to Donald Pleasance who died shortly after his work on the film was finished

  Realizing this is the last outing for Michael Myers, the filmmakers have tipped the ante in terms of suspense and gore. This is the tribute for actor Donald Pleasence - his last film and <i>Halloween</i> series.

  Wow, "The Curse of Michael Myers" what a great film. Suspenseful, entertaining, creative and a clever plot which I love. Many hate the 'Thorn' concept, I love it. I think that it gives the Halloween series some plot. Marianne Hagan is a wonderful actress and turns in a excellent performance, especially for her first film and Paul Rudd and Donald Pleasence are great also. My only complaint is that why wasn't Danielle Harris in this film as Jamie? She wanted to return, but the producers said no. I thought J.C Brandy was great, but I love Danielle Harris. Still, I love Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers. I think The Shape's mask looks the best in this film and George P. Wilbur is the best Michael Myers ever. Incredibly creepy and suspenseful, Halloween 6 rules! I adore this very violent, but immensely enjoyable film. The Halloween horror series - by far the best in the Genre

  The makers got the feeling of Halloween all right, but the script is such a badly written clump of ideas, it's somewhat disappointing. It's got a lot of interconnecting plots and characters, some from previous Halloween movies. Michael Myers, the famous killer of Halloween movies, is apparently controlled by an advanced Pagan "Thorn" cult which use him in conjunction with the alignment of the constellations to get some family blood for their rituals. Michael impregnates an older Jamie Lloyd (survivor girl from Halloween 4 & 5, daughter of Laurie Strode, who was played by Jamie Lee Curtis in Halloween 1 & 2). But Jamie escapes with hers and Michaels' baby (yuck!) from the hidden complex of the Thorn cult underneath the Haddonfield hospital (the same one in Halloween 2?) Michael goes on a killing spree whilst searching for his new baby, and takes out Laurie Strode's parents in bloody ways. But Tommy Doyle (the boy being babysat in the first Halloween movie) and Michael's psychiatrist, Dr. Loomis (Donald Pleasance) are trying to keep the baby from Michael Myers. There's also the introduction of the Strode's daughter Kara and her son Tim (who is hearing voices from the Thorn cult calling him to the ways of evil, because Michael Myers is about to retire and they want a new killer to do their deeds.) Chief characters are outwitted and captured by the evil Thorn cult and brought to their secret research labs under the Haddonfield hospital, where all sorts of weird cloning and evil genetic experiments are being conducted. Michael Myers shows up, and they have a confusing final showdown, where Michael is continuously hit on the head by a pipe and Loomis screams in terror off-camera at something we never get to see. Boo! Sound confusing? It is slightly, but not too bad to follow when you're watching it unfold. What I didn't like was the unsatisfying ending the studio decided to use. It's partially due to the death of Donald Pleasance and them being unable to use the ending which was originally shot with him surviving. Fortunately, there's the Producer's Cut of this movie, which has a slightly different plot and more scenes, a clearer edit on things, plus a more meaningful ending. It's unlikely the studio will ever release the Producer-Cut commercially, so check the Halloween Fan sites to find a copy. oh yeah, was it scary? Definitely, in some of the scenes when Michael is stalking his victims, for sure. This time they chose a version of the Halloween theme with a guitar twang!

  'HalloweeN 6: The Curse of Michael Myers' is suprisingly, one of the better sequels of the series. It isn't perfect by any means and doesn't make a whole lot of sense, but it has more then enough creepy moments throughout to keep your attention.

  An interesting attempt to bridge the gap between the supernatural and real-life elements of the Halloween films. Apparently Myers was possessed by some evil Tome, which a cult worships, that requires a blood sacrifice each Halloween. This accounts for Myers indestructibility and his desire to kill his sister/niece (though since he's failed to accomplish this since he was 10 I don't really understand the importance of it). Like all the Halloween sequels it takes itself far too seriously to fully be enjoyed. If there was some camp or any winks towards the audience the film may have been a far more enjoyable Slasher flick.

  A God awful sequel (Yeah that's been happening the past 4 films already) and completely absurd and unnecessary. The original "Halloween" was actually a good Horror flick and one that was creepy and somewhat original, but now the franchise has hit a new low. The evil conspiracy and controlling of Michael Myers, The Voice, the ceremonies and everything else that could make the film just laughably bad are all on display here. Every cliche and fever-pitched editing technique is in overuse here and only makes the film worse and worse. Do yourself a favor and if you have to watch any of the Halloween films, stick with the first two and don't keep going.
