Hancock Reviews and Ratings

I love Will Smith, but this wasn't one of my favorites. It's definitely a different take on Superhero movies. Good cast with Theron & Bateman, but still, I could have done without this movie. Here's hoping they don't make a sequel...

.Du divertissement, divertissant. neanmoins la seconde partie du film part en cacahouette total et c'est bien dommage.
  • November 13, 2009
If it is going to be another one, great, if not, the end...it's not the best it could be.
  • November 12, 2009
Nothing particularly special, but good fun. Jason Bateman's career is returning, thankfully, and he is the standout here. Will Smith needs to keep doing movies like Pursuit of Happyness in order to keep from being typecast.

The only way to review this film is to split it into two parts. The film starts on a high note - it's quirky, funny and it all works brilliantly, but then half way through, the whole film falls apart. It merges into just another comic book film, relying heavily on special effec...( read more)ts. It's comic, quirky side takes the back seat as CGI and mind numbing action sequences take over. It's a decent enough film, but it could have been so much better.

    it was decent at best

Not one of Smith's better movies. The superhero has fallen on hard times and is an alcoholic (yes this movie is not for the kiddies folks). And he ends up just ticked when people need him for help. Normally Smith plays the "good" guys, he just doesn't work well playing the "leave...( read more) me alone" guy throughout most of the picture.

With silly childish content, Hancock was yet a summer blockbuster for the entire family. B-: Pretty good.
  • November 7, 2009
will smith could have done better
  • November 5, 2009
It's entertaining. The story has potential, but after the first half a twist takes place and the story deviates from the original concept and the new developing of the storyline is kind of disappointing.

    i really wanna c this movie..if u a interested u cn join me
  • November 4, 2009
Super heroe borracho... y resulto ser un angelito... Aunque la angelita de Charlize Theron se ve increible. Por cierto, no hacen buena pareja.

I wasn't expecting much but what pleasantly surprised by this. An interesting twist in the middle and short running time kept it interesting. It could have been very bad, but wasn't.

Well done special effects , good actors. This out of the ordinary superheroes story, this film really caught my attention ! But it was really weird.
  • October 28, 2009
A film that goes overboard with the special effects and the attitude of the character. The plot spirals out of control and by the end the film becomes a jumbled mess. A silly film which could have been so much better.

never had a Blaq super hero before...i love the concept
  • October 27, 2009
Not one of Will's best, but surprise ending good for summer flick...
  • October 27, 2009
Surprisingly sub-par for a Will Smith movie. It's misguided and disjointed, and many of the jokes are in such bad taste that it's shocking. There are some cute moments here and there but still...what was everyone involved thinking?
  • October 25, 2009
What a great movie!..I wish I have a super natural power like them..lol. The end part of it made me cry when hancock wife died..so sad. This is one of the nice and great movie Will Smith ever did.Ü

I liked this movie. It had a lot of funny scenes and Will Smith plays the leading part of Hancock. Hancock is a hated and misunderstood superhero who lives as a bum in the city. He once was popular by the public but this all changed when he made damaages during his superhero deed...( read more)s. He meets a pr worker who wants to help him and repair his image, and Hancock there after discovers that the pr worker's wife has the same powers as he has. I know this movie was trashed by the critics but I had a lot of fun watching this movie.

Great twist on the superhero flick genre. With a further twist half way through that I didn't pick up on. Smith plays the drunk with a constant hangover brilliantly. Good fun if you like your superhero's shoving heads of bad guys up the bums of other bad guys....!
  • October 23, 2009
Good film was very entertaining when Hancock was a drunk the film then got a little a little bit boring.
  • October 22, 2009
He's about as human as a super hero can be. He has a drinking problem, and his people skills are in need of serious rehabilition. Good movie, really enjoyed it.
  • October 22, 2009
First half great, second half terrible...
  • October 22, 2009
A nice different spin on the superhero genre which works and is totally enjoyable and would maybe have earned another half star... until the lame ending!
  • October 22, 2009
Not your typical superhero film, which is what makes this one interesting. Smith and Theron are both great, but its Bateman that I loved. Great flick! ♥

The thing I liked about this was it's not your normal, done 100 times over superhero story, it's way different. Although it didn't have the aspects of a superhero movie, it still did enough to be pretty good. Smith, Bateman and Theron were all very good and the twist half way thr...( read more)ough the movie was unexpected.

The true Anti-Hero. Will Smith is perfect in this movie. Hancock is new, edgy, fresh, and has amazing effects.

I really really liked this movie, I thought it had good pacing, a great story, and I am a huge fan of Will Smith and I think that overall the cast did a good job in portraying their characters.
