A musical Antarctic emperor penguins colony finds it mates through song & Norma Jean (Nicole Kidman) chooses Memphis (Hugh Jackman) as her mate. Mumble (Elijah Wood) is an outcast can't carry a tune but can dance like Savion Glover. Mumble found the carefree colony of adelie penguins afar away from home. Mumble ends up in a penguin exhibit at a marine park. When a child taps on the glass wall when Mumble is woken from his stupor & dances with a large crowd taking pictures. The researchers arrive to film the penguins dancing & dance along with the rhythm.
Suspiciously coming across as six short stories stuck together rather than a coherent plot, Happy Feet is short on character development too and villains never reprise. The music is terrible (needs more Elvis Presley and less hip hop), is mostly unsuitable for children and is a big disappointment. As for the ending, it happens so easily, the film might as well not bothered with any of the struggle.
There is potential while Mumble is a baby, judged and terrified, and the Boss Skua bird who is convinced he has been abducted by aliens (he was tagged by humans) is a fantastic idea. But this has little else to offer, other than some excellent animation.
Love it, Love it , Love it. this movie is awsome love the story, love the music, love the songs, love the characters, and love everything. It is so cute
Overall entertaining, but the plot just seems to jump all over the place. It's like it didn't know whether to be themed around "everyone is special", "stand out from the crowd", or "don't overfish."
Wasn't too bad a movie. There were some really funny parts in here, especially with the "Latino" penguins! ... Not so sure about the ending, but quite watchable.. Not my favourite animated movie though.
Great voice acting. Very funny, I laughed loud. The ending is a bit awkward though but it's not that important. Definitely recommended if you like animated movies.
Not nearly as good as I'd expected. There are a few funny parts, but story keeps dragging on after a while, until it suddenly stops, it wasn't very logical.
What an adorable movie! It did get very wierd towards the end, however it ended well. The music was the absolute best and the cast was amazing! Who knew that these people could sing so well! It was really amazing! Oh, and little Mumble was the cuteest thing!
This movie makes me laugh and always seems to melt my heart... it gives me the blinkies each and everytime! I love the cast... I love Robin Williams when he does his thing.
I like it but I dont like it. Theres too many songs in it, a bit too long, scary and just soooo boring. I honestly prefer March Of the Penguins better than this
Very cute, it seems to me like the story got a little weak towards the end, possibly due to time or budget? Still a good movie with probably one of the best soundtracks. Especially for a cartoon
i luv it so much when the last part the humans they called it aliens hahaha LOL penguings r so funny! i wanna know who is the producer of happy feet!!! ?:>
Although it's so damn unfair that this little flick won an Academy Award for best animated film over Cars, the animation is solid, most of the songs are great, and the plot, although it may seem stupid at first, gets very fun and charming. An OK film.
