I think this is the weakest Harry Potter film so far, apart from a really good performance by Kenneth Branagh (Who should have been in brought back in later films along with John Cleese IMO) and the flying car, it didn't have much going for it.

A very good chapter, dark and quite scary in places for the younger viewer. Dobby is very well realised but its abit of a rip from LOTR character 'Gollum'. There are some good scenes and ideas here, I like the flying car and the lurking monsters in the grounds, also the broomstic...( read more)k Quidditch games are pretty cool, although again it kind of a 'Return of the Jedi' rip but hey.

Harry Potter is back living with his aunt and uncle after successfully completing his first year at Hogwarts. Despite ominous warnings from a mischievous house elf, he returns to the renowned school of wizardry in order to further his education. He learns of an eminent threat revolving around an ancient chamber of secrets that could potentially close down the school, but his fellow classmates become suspicious of him when they learn that he's a parsel-tongue and may in fact be a descendant of Salazar Slytherin. Like its predecessor it goes on too long, but the story is much more interesting, and there are an abundance of exciting, inventive, eye-popping special effects. Good fun for kids and adults alike, though it could have used a little less plot.

A very enjoyable sequel, but not quite as good as the first. I enjoyed Kenneth Branagh?s performance, along with the existing characters.

I was a little skeptical about a series of movies about wizardry and the folklore surrounding it. I'm not a fan of fantasy stories, however, my tastes have changed with the past 2 HP movies. There is a true heart to this story and it is growing on me. I'm looking forward to the ...( read more)rest of the films!

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is a wonderful sequel. The young magician, Harry, returns to the school of wizardry. When some students are found trapped under a petrifying spell, he and his friends investigate further. They soon discover that the spell is being inflict...( read more)ed by a spirit lurking from a chamber below campus grounds. Furthermore, they learn that the motives behind this are based on prejudices against half bloods (non-pure magic humans) and for control of the entire school. The film is enchanting because of the fantasies it explores. There is a scene where Harry is sprung from his bedroom window by his friends in a flying car. How fun is that? The only problem is that the car has an attitude. In another scene, the students are trained to deliver babies. But not the human kind. These ones are rooted out from soil in flower pots. The original cast returns with an additional funny performance by Kenneth Brannagh. This sequel demonstrates that in this world based on the novels of JK Rowling, imagination is boundless.
