Don't ask me why but this is the second movie I've reviewed starring Jason Dolley which is getting a good review. The first being Minutemen. Either the boy has a good agent, or is getting luck of the draw.

Yeah it is a typical Disney TV movie, but it certainly is one of...( read more) the better ones recently. There is no real antagonist in the film as it focuses on the theme of man versus himself. The title character Pete (Jason Dolley) never gets noticed -- even his teachers think he's a stranger to school -- but when his best friend Cleatus (Mitchell Musso) cannot perform his duties as school mascot (due to an allergic reactions from the suit) he takes his place. The result finds Pete as "The Chicken" becoming an overnight sensation with Cleatus getting all the credit. Inevitably through happinstance everyone learns that Cleatus is not the man under the feathers, but the same question is on everyone's lips who is The Chicken? Yes the movie does involve the usual attempt to get the girl, and an obstacle does present itself that the heroes have to overcome, but it is done in a fun and original way.

If there is a main theme here it is most definetly friendship. This is a movie the whole family can enjoy. Frankly when children grow into their tweens, this film is a good introduction to the more age appropriate themes.

Way better than most of the DCOM's, the story is interesting, the characters are believible and the actors do a great job.
Easily one of the top choices if you're in a mood for a DCOM.

Looked bad, but really, the commercial doesn't do it justice. Mitchel Musso and Jason Dolley both did a good job. The beginning was really annoying and unoriginal, but I thought there was a good use of suspense near the end.

I just watched this movie the other night while I was babysitting, and it was actually pretty funny. I like how everyones love for Jason's character is depending on the chicken outfit. It starts out with no one liking him. His best friend though starts out being the chicken, and ...( read more)he can't continue doing that job, because he has bad allergies so he asked Jason to continue his job for him. He says yes after a long hard thought. Before the whole chicken suit thing, he meets this wonderful pretty girl, and really wants to ask her out. The only problem with that was she was in a relationship. Throughout the movie, she breaks up with her boyfriend, and Jason's character thinks he might have a chance. On the other hand, the whole town really likes this new chicken man and finds out that Mitchel's character is not doing it anymore. Now they're all wondering who this mysterious guy is. At the end of the movie, he reveals his identity and Josie's character falls in love with him.

I particularly loved the ending to this movie. I thought it was sweet, and possible. What I mean by this is it can happen to anyone. Just gotta out your heart/mind to it. I would watch it again in a heartbeat.
