Headin' for the Rio Grande
Headin' for the Rio Grande was the second of singing cowboy Tex Ritter's starring features, and the eighth release for the fledgling film factory of Grand National Pictures. In this outing, Ritter and his sidekick Chile (Syd Saylor) take on a gang of frontier gangsters. The villains are operating a vicious protection racket, keeping their victims in line with random acts of violence and murder. Ritter makes short work of the crooks, with time to spare for four song numbers, at least two of them sung to leading lady Eleanor Stewart. Featured in the cast as a ranch cook is old-time… More
