this is the bestest old movie ever!! Shirley Temple is like the CUTEST star in the universe!! Well, the cutest little actress, cuz Johnny has #1 cutest star. XD
and older, funnier version of the classic story of Heidi. The movie isn't all true to story but it's nice anyways. One of my favorite actresses, Sheri Temple.
One thing Shirley Temple did extremely well (besides sing, dance, and act) was turn the cranky cuddly. She'd done it effectively, two years prior, in 1935's The Little Colonel with grandfather Lionel Barrymore. Now in Heidi she turns he...
This is one of the greatest movies ever! Heidi is so sweet and doesn't give anyone a chance to dislike her. I know how she felt about leaving the mountains. Since we have moved to Florida, I've felt the same way.
Depressing classic... Another one that got killed by too frequent viewing at Sandy Cove... turns out all right in the end, but very sad through the beginning and middle... a must for fans of Shirley Temple...
Been a lot of Heidi movies - but none of them came close to this one. Shirley was the best Heidi eva! "Grandfather Grandfather!!!" (excuse me while I get a tissue)
Once in a while the mistake was made whereby Shirley Temple was matched with a poor screenplay, expecting her popularity alone to make it a hit. This is one such forgettable film, and a sad rendition of this classic novel. Some German versions, including one animated series, do much better at telling Heidi's story.
shirley temple was such a good actress in the OLD DAYS. i do not think that many people give old movies a chance and i love them but i am not sure that this one would be good because i never liked the book HEIDI but i think that she is so adorable when her curls bounce in the air!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Heidi: [Church bells chiming] I like to hear the church bells, don't you, Grandfather?
Adolph Kramer, The Grandfather: Get to bed.
Heidi: Shall I say my prayers out here with you?
Adolph Kramer, The Grandfather: I told you to go to bed!
Heidi: Yes, Grandfather. I think I'll go to bed now, Grandfather. Good night!
most of shirley temple's movies were good, but this one was a slight exeption. They made it well, though it wasn't as good as some of her other films. this one is all about her grandfather, whom she's never met, is having to cope with having shirley dumped onto him by her evil aunt. then she is taken away again, her grandfather then leaving home to find her.
