I loved it that after they've been to so many countries playing music for people, eventually their hometown, Iceland, still brought them the most happiness and gratitude. I was totally touched by the scene that all audience fly kites around this field while Sigur Ros are playing on the stage!
Most of the post-rock bands are incredible when playing live and I have a feeling this will be amazing as well. I'm not really a huge fan of Sigur Ros, but I am a huge fan of the post-rock genre as a whole.
Definitely worth a see for Sigur Ros fans. As expected, if you are not a fan, don't see it. All you would get to see is a little Icelandic scenery and culture.
Icelandic alternative band Sigur Ros return to their homeland after a long world tour for a couple of concerts at very unusual places. This documentary shows new performances of some of their songs, short interview glimpses with the band and breathtaking images of Iceland mixed together into a stunning, magic concert film. It also takes a close look at the audiences coming to their free shows, their faces, their reactions. The result is so breathtakingly beautiful that I am still speechless. Works for fans of the band or the country and everyone who is curious about either.
A picture postcard from Iceland. This is what a concert film should be: a band showing you who they are and where they're from. Poignant and humorous interviews interspersed with oft mesmerizing performances.
Everything about this documentary is beautiful, the music, the landscapes...It is a perfect look into the life of Sigur Ros and their native country, Iceland.
A beautiful melding of music and travelogue. One of the best musical acts I have ever seen in concert give us a lovely tour around their home country of Iceland.
Most beautiful DVD I've ever seen by famous Icelandic band Sigur Ros that shows them playing free concerts in random places in their country in 2006. Why did I even write these reviews, no one's gonna read them, I know it's good so it shouldn't matter. Meh, human nature.
Most beautiful thing I've ever seen. A documentary made by an Icelandic band (Sigur Ros) where they traveled around Iceland giving out free concerts and filming the country.
