It was all supposed to be so easy: A group of athletically… More When a group of speed-skating Texas women set out to resurrect the once-popular sport of roller derby, they quickly find their efforts complicated by internal strife that threatens to sink the endeavor before it ever gets off of the ground. It was all supposed to be so easy: A group of athletically inclined women band together in order to bring back a sport that one flourished and the public gets a warm blast of nostalgia while also receiving a fresh alternative to the staid world of modern sports. Leave it to infighting and politics to prevent a fledgling organization from ever taking flight though, because when egos clash and sides are chosen two leagues will emerge to the confusion of roller derby enthusiasts everywhere. Is there really room for dueling leagues in the international roller derby revival, or will stubbornness and bureaucratic red-tape sink both leagues before the first body is thrown over the rails? ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi
